I’m posting this review on behalf of my 70 year old mother here’s the experience she had a few days ago as told by her: I’m visiting my daughter in Oregon and until today had become enamored at Fred Meyer, but that has all changed now. Heres why: About a month ago I purchased a pair of slippers that I was thrilled with. however, they started to fall apart so I washed/dried them and tried to return them to the store. I say “tried “ because the apparel manager and the store manager refused to take them back in spite of the 90 day return policy clearly stated on the Fred Meyer website. The Excuse was that the slippers looked “too unsanitary for the staff to touch” they also refused to look at my Fred Meyer rewards card for my purchase history even though the Fred Meyer website clearly says that’s the best way to do returns. In fact, they wouldn’t even listen to me, rather, they just railroaded me out of the store, slippers in hand. Even if the slippers had been dirty, it should not have mattered. The store sold a defective product and it is their responsibility to make that right if they expect to keep customers. Worst of all their attitude was demeaning and condescending as though I were a homeless person who had worn sandals for a year and was trying to return them for a freebie. I felt so humiliated that I started to cry. The way the management interacted with me made me feel like a second class citizen and considering that I’m a middle-class white woman in my 70s, I shudder to think how they must treat minorities or people of color. I prefer to shop at stores that are managed by kind human beings, who are thoughtful in the way to interact with their customers. This store is not that and I won’t be returning. Do better.
No apple pay, no touch and go pay in crackhead capital of salem oregon. Fred Meyers keeps up to date with the latest technology of 1999 here. Good job! You're better off at Safeway not the ghetto knock off, Fred Meyers.
I called to check availability on Pokémon cards after I drove to Walmart, Walgreens, 711, ace hardware, I drove here from west Salem only to find out that the $25 Pokémon cards were not in stock like I was told. Nicole at the game section of the store found me a $10 coupon that I was able to apply towards the $54 pack and my 10 yrs old happy. So she did a great job and made a bad experience a pleasant one. Thank you Nicole my son said you deserve 5 stars
An exceptional review for David @ customer service desk. I had to exchange/return Carhartt overalls for boys that I have purchased in NE Store. I was told by original employee Christina that she can’t do it without receipt or a tag. I also learned that SE location doesn’t sell this brand for kids. I offered my debit card to find a transaction but she said it won’t work. When David stepped in, he took the item and entered numbers from inside of the tag of overalls and found UPC # He TRULLY knows what customer service is. Thank you!
Fred Meyers has always been a staple in our household. whether we're just shopping for food, Furnishing the house, picking up school supplies, stocking up on seasonal merchandise, you can get it all here. The produce selection is out of this world with vast selection of organic and non-organic. Although I don't really shop at them, the meat and seafood section is pretty legit and the deli has a wide variety of pre-made food if you're in a hurry. There's also hey Jeweler, Chase Bank, and play area for kids to keep them busy while you shop. Great store to find almost anything.
Never had a problem or encountered a rude employee up until today, Manager “Tammy” was so rude and had such a condescending attitude towards me when trying to return some thing today. She was literally pushing my receipt and item back onto me off the counter not once but twice trying to get me to leave. I was not rude in anyway so her attitude really shocked me. Very rude sarcastic smile and tone and just made me feel terrible for something so simple. Although she completely changed her tone when I called to try and talk to someone about this which proved to me that she really had just chosen to be such a rude person to me . Hopefully she changes the way she speaks to people because of how they look or the situation..
This is a good Freddys. Has been for years. Always decent parking for out of towners. If we need something in Salem out South, it's a go-to.

My favorite. Except- I'm a creature of habit and the remodel is making me crazy. I don't know where anything is but I'll get the new layout down eventually I'm sure.
