The woman at the front desk is super nice and friendly. That is about the only reason this business is getting a star. The missing four stars are due to the scratches my car received after getting an oil change. I live 2 blocks away from the mechanic, and went there for the first time because it was too cold to walk back home from my normal mechanic A&W mechanic - awesome btw!. Anyway, I brought my car in and picked it up a few hours later. I never check my car mainly because this has never happened to me before. But as soon as I got home, I parked and immediately saw scratches all over the front right fender and hood of my car. Not only were there scratches, but there was physical grease residue on the bumper. Not soil, wood, bits of curb/cement, but actual grease that you basically only find in a mechanic shop or when you work on cars. Although the mechanics were amicable, they tried saying it was there and without proof on my end, it was a stale mate. I called the police to file a report, but nothing came of that. The scratches are noticeable but not major. Not enough for me to pay out of pocket to fix, but that's because it's an older car I had planned on running until it died anyway. At the end of the day, it was more of a 'principle' sort of situation where I felt shafted that I brought my car in for an oil change, and walked away with damage as well. They could have at least offered to cover the cost of my oil change. I waited in their parking lot for 2 hours for the police to arrive. People just trying to scam companies don't do that sort of thing. P.S. I took the car to an actual auto-body specialist the next day, and he said it was clearly a fresh accident. I just wish I had the professional with me when the mechanic tried saying the scratches were rusted and "couldn't have been from us".
One of the best mechanic shops I've dealt with. I was drawn in by the sign outside that said "voted most honest in philly" for whatever year. I figured, you know, what more could you ask for in a car mechanic? I've been there a few times and now refuse to go anywhere else. Their service is excellent - call and get an appt in a few days, they take it before business hrs open at 7:30 and you can pick it up after hours open til 5:30, but if you have a spare set you can pick it up off the lot - its been same-day service every time I've gone. Everybody I've dealt with there is very polite and speaks clearly. Their prices are great. Every time I go in, I feel like I find out something new that I overpaid for in the past. I have no concerns about their honesty, either, which is especially important in this business because nobody knows if they are ripping you off. If the car is making a noise or something that doesn't need to be fixed, they will tell you straight rather than tack it on to the bill. Also its right near the 23 Bus line on Germantown if you need to get somewhere or get back.
