Like the other poster, I too attended this hell hole. Granted when I went, 35-38 years ago, it was a different world, with different values. But nontheless being a kid with dyslexia and being taught by teachers with grossly overly religious views, I was called stupid, retarded, threatened with beatings because I wrote my b's, d's, 3's and E's backwards. I favored my left hand, but was forced to write with my right, my handwriting suffers to this day because of it. And it goes on and on. It was the absolute worst time in my life. It's because of the experiences I had in FCA that now I'm a full atheist. This isn't a joke, or troll review. This place, and places like it are the definition of what hell is. And if your kid has a learning disability of any kind steer clear of this place. A chimpanzee would be a better teacher.
Thank you.

We have had four of our children attend the school. Two have since graduated and done well at college. Our son currently holds a 4.0 grade point average where he attends and is training for the ministry. The academic training is good. Recently, the Frederick County Public Schools boasted that their SAT mean score was 1540, compared with the national mean score of 1490. The mean score for our school was 1776. I have found all the teachers to be caring and interested in the academic, behavioral, and spiritual development of each of our children. Because it is a smaller school, our children have had opportunities to be involved in many different activities from sports, to fine arts, to community service. There is an emphasis on upholding biblical values and character, and parents are very much involved in their children's lives and any special activities at the school. The facilities are good and the location scenic.

I'm somewhat biased as my wife teaches elementary music, elementary Spanish and High School Spanish.
Prior to teaching Spanish, she taught High School French.
From what I understand, several of her students have "tested out" of the first level language requirements at their respective colleges.

Small classes, personal attention to my children, sincere effort on teachers' part to partner with me as a parent to raise my boys, great soccer teams (BTW middle school BBall boys team just went undefeated all season to win their conference-2016) and coach are but a few of the great pluses of FCA.
I will and have recommended FCA to all I happen to come in contact with and proudly drive around with their bumper sticker on my car (and BTW not all parents are rich here, some of us believe so strongly in the quality education and mentoring our children are receiving that we are willing to prioritize it in our family).

I was very blessed to have had the opportunity to attend Frederick Christian Academy from elementary all the way through 12th grade and am proud to claim FCA as my alma mater. My parents were by no means wealthy but saw the value a Christian education could offer their family.
I was able to receive the attention I needed as a student from my teachers due to the smaller class sizes. If I ever needed extra help, they were always there for me. I especially remember my math teacher, Mrs.Corselius, working with me and others after school.
My years on the sports teams (volleyball, basketball, and soccer) were some of my best times at FCA. Our coaches stressed that a good work ethic and sportsmanship were just as important as winning. The gym is awesome and the campus is scenic. I also enjoyed singing with the choir for 6 years, playing the hand bells, and my art classes.
Another perk of FCA is that they offer classes for children 3yrs. through 12th grade. This range of ages not only meant one trip for my parents in the morning (I had siblings attend as well), but also gave us the opportunity to befriend, encourage and look out for not just our own classmates, but all the student body from young to old. The student life at FCA was an environment where we were given the spiritual and practical tools to show love and respect to our peers as well as to those over us.
FCA helped me exceed in my academic goals. My college English honors course felt like 10th grade all over again and I felt fully prepared for my four years of college. I now work as a graphic designer in a great marketing company and would definitely recommend Frederick Christian Academy to any parent or student who is looking for a loving staff that provides a great and challenging educational experience.
