French Quarter Realty

Story

Andrew grew up in Arizona and moved to New Orleans in the mid-90s to attend Loyola University. Upon graduating he moved immediately to the French Quarter where he stayed for 10 years until deciding to renovate a house in the historic Treme one block from the Quarter. A longtime employee of Dickie Brennan’s restaurant group, as well as a veteran volunteer DJ for WWOZ–New Orleans premiere radio station–since 1999, Andrew joined the French Quarter Realty team in 2011. With an extensive knowledge of the French Quarter, Marigny, Bywater and Treme neighborhoods, Andrew can assist with all rental and sales needs throughout New Orleans. When not working or renovating his house, you can find Andrew–an avid cyclist–biking all over New Orleans’ varied neighborhoods, dancing at the second line on Sunday or in the many great music venues of the city, as well as participating as co-captain/float captain for Krewe du Vieux’s Krewe of Underwear.

Abstract: Best Realty team in the business. Now to why you should use this unique group of individuals. We, like many others, decided to buy a house at the craziest time possible. Prices were high, hopes were low, and I truly did not think we would make it through even the initial phases. After a referral that consisted of “just call the guy, trust me”, we connected with Jansen and from there, a bond was formed. I had tried with other realtors in the area, but could never “vibe” as they. We would get listings that weren’t even close to what we wanted, and then came Jansen’s list. I was 1000 miles away and this guy started our process by going to a house we were looking at, FaceTiming during the whole tour, and truly listening to everything we said. He made sure to note every detail down to the particular kitchen counter we wanted. Weeks pass by and he continued to work with us, take our endless calls, and keep spirits high. This guy went on visits with his trusty partner JT to bring us his true opinions, and the sometimes typical close at every opportunity. This combo even went as far as to make sure we did not jump at the first thing available, and instead detailed every pro and con of the listings we were looking at. Jansen and JT were always looking out for us which brings us to the next part. They found our dream home, complete with every detail you could find, and did not stop there as they guided us through the intricacies of actually purchasing a home including finding a lender Matt Helling- First Horzion, negotiating the contracts, following up on deadlines, and making sure the inspection was more thorough than a prized race horse before the derby. He carried us through every step, made sure everything was perfect, and even now, months down the line, continues to check in on us because he doesn’t see transactions, he sees opportunities for dreams to be made. In conclusion, yes give this guy a call, let him run with it, and be prepared to be impressed.
Still holding a master key ,plus apartment key & in 6 months have not followed through any verbal commitment. Now going with new agencies & selling due to lack of concern, text & emails, plus phone calls with receptionist. Very disturbing on the level of intrest in this community. Think twice & shop around. Just as well ,probably a dead end ! Not Recommended Ever ! Especially in this economic climate.
I've used FQR for 6 transactions over the last few years. They are a high quality, high integrity firm. Richard, Michael, Wayne, George and the entire team make the experience of buying or selling clear and straight forward. I highly recommend them !
Given the buyers market and interest rates, as a long time resident in the Quarter, for the past several months I have been looking to upgrade to a larger place here. However do beware of FQR as it clearly seems you pay a premium for the French Quarter name of this company. It would appear this is to catch unsuspecting tourists with the name especially during Mardi Gras and festival season. Recently toured a FQR property on Bourbon Street. Agent was very nice and she was quite professional. But when doing my research, I noticed months ago the exact same condo on the third floor right above the FQR listing sold for $245k, I.e., $65k less than the asking price of the FQR condo listed at 310k. Right below the FQR condo, the exact same apartment on the ground floor listed by another broker is on the market for $279 or 31k less than the FQR property. Caveat emptor. I steered clear and just this weekend got a much nicer property and better $/sq ft ratio elsewhere in the Quarter off Bourbon St by working with a broker that has a national name but no apparent additional markup. Addendum: Caveat emptor still holds. Since finding another property I debated whether to answer the FQR response, why bother?, but after thinking about it for a few days, I feel the need to set the record straight. Truth in advertising does matter! Having seen the listing photos for all three properties and toured the present two on the market, one above each other, it is debatable to say the condition among the three is dramatically different, certainly not to justify a 31-65K difference. In fact the ground floor unit right below the FQR listing has a much more spacious bathroom and the difference in square footage as listed is only 17 sq ft NOT 200 sq/ft as stated in the FQR response. What is not debatable is that the ground floor and third floor condos have windows/patio doors that open to the outside. However the FQR listing does not have a single window that opens, so the only way of getting fresh air is to open the front door. This means the A/C is going 24/7 most of the year and during hurricane season when the power goes out, as it does down here, this means you would be trapped in the equivalent of a sauna.
I worked with an agent years ago. We looked at several homes over the year putting in a handful of offers. Due to a number of inspections and missed opportunities, it just didn't pan out for either party. Real estate can be a tricky field with highs and lows. Overall, good office. Would recommend.
I would highly recommend Lisa Shedlock. Guided me through the whole process and acted extremely professionally as dual broker. I plan on using them again in near future.
George Jeansonne was referred to me. To put it simply George is by far the best. A very hard worker and dedicated to every detail. He will not tell you what you want to hear but what you need to hear to get results. In real estate this is critical. I would use George over and over again. George, thank you for doing such a wonderful job.
Excellent brokerage. Top notch realtors. Deep roots in New Orleans and surrounding markets. Looking for the best? Call FQR
