Eh. The act leading up to Dillon Francis was a 3 hour yawn. Everybody was booing and annoyed. They oversell the DJ booth VIP area so it's very crowded and still hard to get drinks. Plus you just stare at a giant wall the whole time and at best, the backs of everyone who is invited in to the actual booth. It's extremely crowded and oversold. Headliner didn't start until 2:30 am.
Good afternoon FREQ administrators, How are you? I am writing this letter in regards to an incident that occurred on Friday February 23, 2018. While networking with one of my associates at the bar I requested an additional drink from one of your bartenders and to my dismay she was quite rude. I'm not sure if it was due to the fact that I did not place all my drinks at once and it was busy, but nonetheless there was absolutely no explanation for her behavior. I myself was very respectful! I proceeded to speak with management in regards to the bartenders poor professionalism and communicative skills and to my surprise the manager was even more abrupt and unprofessional. Although, I was attending your club for a comedy show and party I also network, advertise and conduct business with individuals at your venues, especially within urban venues, like yourself; and it's unfortunate that the management and bartenders at your establishment lack common customer service skills. Nonetheless, the manager, who is from Asian decent my apologies I don't know her name was modeling impertinent and unprofessional behavior so how can one expect your bartenders, to respect every attendee at your venues. It's very unfortunate and quite surprising because I frequently attend FREQ for leisure and business and I've never experienced such behavior. Thank you in advance for listening.
Excellent nightclub with an incredible sound system. The night I was there, the coat check was full by 1:30am. So that wasn't good. Also the ATM made me wait 10 minutes to give me my card back. Other than that, its a great place to go out and dance. The sound system is incredible Funktion one. Lots of room to dance, the layout of the club is great, floors are wood, easy on the knees. Lights are well done. There was a live performance when I was there and it was very well done, performers sounded good and you could see them. Note to the club: you should close that side room and just make it a coat check in the winter. Also if you live in NYC, you should go out and support dance clubs and DJs. Good quality NYC nightlife is not a right, its a privilege. London is closing all their clubs.
I attended an event 2/23.. the event was awesome overall but the staff is racist ... The Caucasian bartender wouldn’t give me her name . Very disrespectful when asked a simple question.. eyes rolled, sucked teeth... I Only went to the event for a special blue drink that I knew was being served because My girlfriends had some before I arrived and she wouldn’t or couldn’t explain why I couldn’t have any.. very disappointed .. venue definitely needs to diversify their Bartenders to look like the patrons that are coming to spend their hard earned money with them ! Also, Get bottle service ! Drinks from the bar are watered down and taste funny.
Was a fun club i went to an event with Rich it wasn't to bad. there was good music and there was enough space to dance. But very expensive drinks for example some sodas were 3 dollars for a cup some fights going on. not the best or the worst
Terribly overpriced and over crowded. It was a clear violation of any fire codes. The crowd was jammed together so tightly my body could not move one bit. The headliner Dillon Francis did not show until 230am. Overpriced watered down drinks for $15+ each. Please save yourself from the awful experience of going to this venue. There are plenty of better venues in the city that do not do this. Will never go back and warn everyone I know.
Horrible experience. Went for NYE. Event was run horribly. Lines were haphazard. Was not able to enjoy even one drink at the 4 hour open barpaid 128$ for my ticket because there was a 5-7 person deep crowd in front of the 2 small bars at all times. I couldnt even get water -which may have been a good thing because the line for the bathroom was a mile long. There was no nice decor or architecture- seemed like I was in the garage of a frat house. I left after an hour of bad music and hopelessness.
Worst place I have ever been too. I’ve been to a lot of bars and clubs but this one takes the case. I’m pretty patient guy but after having both the manager and security be super rude to me cause I asked them a question about the drinking bracelets and getting charged $80 for 4 drinks and having the place overpacked to the point of being a fire hazard. I just decided to leave, currently talking with my bank to get a refund on my ticket. Seriously skip this place, it’s as bad as everyone says, you’re better off literally anywhere and I mean anywhere. I don’t care for reviews but I had to post one to deter people and help them out.
So the night can vary a ton here. But one thing that's a good staple - a great sound system. If you stand at the corners of the dance floor near the speakers and song with a lot of bass comes on, you're sure to feel the vibrations from your feet to your heart. It was actually a little too much at times, but you can always step away from the corners. There's a nice little rooftop that you can smoke on as well. I don't smoke, but there's a great view of Hell's Kitchen and Midtown.
Ridiculously overpriced. And not a clear target clientele. I earn a good living. But I don't care, I'm not happy with paying $15 for a small plastic cup of watered down drinks. Not to mention $10 for a 50¢ bottle of water. It also seems like they let any young idiot with a passable enough ID into this place. Too many youngteens to very early 20's guys that don't know how to pace themselves when they drink. This place has really gone downhill. This place is not worth the annoyance. Skip it.
