My wife and I went to Montclair for the sole purpose of trying out Ramen at Ani's. But that Saturday evening Ani was packed with a line reaching out the door and it was raining. So in the spirit of not leaving with our stomachs empty and desire to satiate our Ramen cravings we started to walk down the avenue and stumbled upon this place. We saw that it was full of patrons as well, but luckily for us they had a open table for 2. The staff here are nice, friendly and attentive. We ordered as an appetizer the Takoyaki wich is Octopus rolled into a ball, for entree I got Chicken Curry for myself and Spicy Miso Ramen with Roasted Pork for my wife. The meal was very good, Octopus full of flavor, my curry was huge and tasty and her Ramen was superb. Although we still would like to check out Ani up the road, we would love to come back to Fujiya and try more tasty meals from their menu.
Nice little shop, it’s less busy than the other ramen shops. There is a limited selection in the menu. We both got ramen, pork and vegetarian. The broth was really rich and delicious but there wasnt enough sides in it. The service was friendly and quick.
As a hardcore fan of ramen, this is the worst ramen place I have been to. I drove 2 hours for this place because it claims it has a professional Japanese ramen chef. I feel false advertised. Let alone it's super unauthentic, it does not taste good. Pork is blank and chewy, super small portion. Weird service, with 8 available spots, the host told me and my friend to wait half an hour. After we sat down and there were two tables available, I saw the host made another party of four wait then seat them at the table that has been available at the beginning. Waitress never smiled at once.
I want to give it a try even after reading the negative reviews but unfortunately the reviews are largely true. The taste of the ramen was very bland and meat was very hard to chew. Wont be visiting for a second time.
The food is good and the prices are great. Not as wonderful as Ani Ramen but I do recommend this place. Great service too.
Good good. Got the spicy miso and was satisfied by the spice level. Tried the pork buns and pork dumplings as well. All delicious. Service was good.
I eat Spicy Miso Yaki Udon from Fujiya Ramen probably every other day of my life with my girlfriend. This restaurant is ON POINT. They truly care for their customers - and prioritize quality and consistency. As an original Japanese Ramen house founded in Tokyo decades ago you can expect traditional Japanese food. As a regular I am privelaged to receive an occasional free sample or a smiley face on the receipt. It’s really the little things that make the difference. Don’t expect the spirited away bowl with chopsticks - that privilege I enjoy thanks to my GF :! Order from Fujiya Ramen, then do it again. You won’t regret it. Loyal Customer David P
I really enjoyed my time at this place. The ramen was really good but they were stingy with the shrimp. The broth was really good as well. The service was good and the place was so clean. I found a new go to ramen place.
They serve generous portions, their soups are very good. A lot better than other similar spots around town. The establishment is clean and the staff friendly. The appetizers are also very good. Will be coming back for sure.
Our first time here. Attentive staff and yummy food at not outrageous prices. I'd definitely come back!
