This place brings back memories from my childhood and teenage years. It has its pros and cons, but seeing my toddler have a good first time here is all that really mattered to me. We love Funplex!
It's almost like an indoor Vegas themed park upon entrance but the lure is soon over as you go in and see how overpriced and just a TAD rundown it is. Still overall my 8 year old had a blast so I guess it was worth it...
First off, the fact that it was empty on a Friday night just makes me happy that my kids didn’t have to wait in line and did all the arcade and rides they wanted to do. Didn’t try any of the food options cause I just wasn’t going to from the jump, but according to the menu they have burgers and such plus cupcakes and cookies that look like they bought at Walmart or krogers and just displayed it nicely The rides are pretty quick as far as getting your moneys worth. The unlimited arcade card, you swipe it and have to wait 2 minutes to swipe it again, so if you think you bout to pay for one unlimited arcade and have the kids run through it, it’s not possible. This place is more so make it your own fun. I didn’t go to the bowling section or skating but I will be back to try it later with adults and no kids .
The skating area is great, but the music they play is very advance for kids. Like profanity music.Ms V is the person in charge of music today, Sunday oct -02-2022. - 3:20pm I want this place to consider the music for kids, because this is a kids playground, not a night life place for adults
Okay, so some basic things to know coming here: 1. FUNPLEX is an Alief staple. Nostalgia for the old-heads that grew up here. The sign, those palm trees and that mirror looking building are all still there. Adventure bay closed over a decade ago now apartments, the putt putt is gone dumb move, there's been other changes over the years but the spirit of the place remains the same. 2. You don't come here expecting squeaky clean bathrooms and top-notch service. Idk what people expect out of this place, but it just ain't that. This place is from the 80s. There's been nighttime raves and hip-hop shows periodically over the years. There's a bar in the thing. This is not exactly Chuck-E-Cheese, and isn't meant to be. That being said, there is definitely room for improvement. The arcade seems sad compared to back then, and could benefit from some retro gaming. The prices are too high considering this place is old-school, but man everything is going up so I know they gotta eat too. Just hope this place can stay around for the years to come, as it's hard to imagine the area without it.
Save your money. I’d give it zero points if I could. I’ve tried to play 3 games so far, none have worked. They did give me points back, but if everything I want to play is broke, what good are the points. They do not give refunds, they’re not fixing the games. If you’re wanting to play at an arcade, this isn’t the place to come. Sad game selection as it is, then they’re broken. Also, in the fun plex bathroom there are large roaches.
I drive the all way from katy for the roller ring, I even checked the website before. We arrive and is close for remodeling.... for real guy, is to hard to update you website? Also the go cart is close as well but say open on the website to .... Well pretty much every cool ride hare close... Don't waste your time with this place...
it was expensive to me:$25 to bowl for 1 game,$25 to roller skating for 1 hour, and $25 for 7 laps around the go cart track, at least the ferris wheel was cheaper $5.99 for a few spins, there were a lot of birthday parties going on and it was pretty packed which is good for business
PERSONALLY, I would rate this place a 0. But that’s not possible, so I’ll have to rate it a 1. Not gonna lie, the presentation was quite nice as I walked through the doors. But then it just progressively worse as I walked around. Floors needed to be redone, suspicious substances in the fountain water, and terrible centerpieces. There’s not too many games and not to mention they’re so expensive. Also, an atrocious amount of the games make you swipe your game card multiple times to just eat up your money. I should have known better when I saw blue velvet carpet outside of the building when you walk in. To be honest, I’m 15 and I think the only reason they’re open is from laundering money. This place is one shootout from being the projects. Never again. Highly don’t recommend bringing you or your children here. Do the world some good.
The drinks were okay and not two expensive. I am not sure if they generally don't care about the bowling lanes but they are the worst. We went there and about a fourth of a time the lanes pins would fall. The balls are in such bad condition I mean come on have some decent balls. The go carts are so over priced I didn't do anything else so can really comment on it. Would I recommend no but you may have a better experience.
