YUM! I enjoyed a great Italian family dinner here this week. We had the Coal Miners Daughter, Gnocchi with Italian Sausage, and a Mediterranean pizza. The food was fantastic and our server was friendly. Bar service was a little slow. I only saw one bartender working on a busy Thursday night so this may depend on staffing. The kitchen also does NOT allow substitutions. I asked to switch a topping on my pizza but was refused so I ended up building my own almost the same as the Mediterranean. All in all, this is a great Italian spot in Edmond. The perfect place to stop in for a cozy hearty meal!
We ate here on recommendation and were not disappointed. The food was excellent all around and came in huge portions we also had lunch the next day! The crab cocktail fingers were the highlight of my night only because I don't eat seafood as much as I'd like. I also had the Roma pasta with an order of meatballs, which was rich and well cooked. My wife had the calamari and eggplant parmigiana. Lastly, the house dipping sauce for the bread is excellent and very unique. The only criticism I had for food is that the marinara served with the calamari is very savory, so I did not think it complemented the savory calamari well. I would have rather had a citrusy white sauce to go with it. Service was a little slow, but they were busy and the dining area is terribly laid out. They are moving to another location, so I am hoping that this improves, and I'm not knocking them for it. I also wish that the lighting was a little brighter and more even. The dining room was not too loud and easy to speak at normal levels. Our waiter was very personable and knowledgeable on their food. The food may seem a little pricey, but it is excellent quality and I doubt you'd be disappointed in it. Overall, this place reminded my wife and I of Italy and we can't wait to try the new location! Features: Staff wearing masks and diners don't while eating.
Gabriella's is an upscale Italian grill which can get busy on the weekends. Despite having a reservation for a private room, we were seated near the kitchen well past our time. They explained they were backed up. The calamari and Italian nachos were plentiful and tasted delicious. Be aware that the fried calamari has fried banana peppers or pepperocinis mixed in that are indistinguishable. It took the server 45 minutes to bring out more bread for the six of us. Our server wrote my father's order on the back of the ticket and forgot to enter in his food. He had to wait around 10 minutes for his pizza. Price point is more aligned with the ingredients than service at this expensive Italian restaurant.
We stopped in Friday night for dinner around 6:00 and they were already packed! Reservations are a must if you want a table. We ended up eating on the patio without a reservation which was not a problem. The service and food were both amazing! I highly recommended this place. The original location was great but their new location brings things to a whole new level. Definitely no disappointments here.
We went in through the wrong door but was still greeted nicely and sat at a table right away. Service was fast and friendly. Slight hiccup with serving our entrees before the appetizer. Pesto and mussels felt a bit salty for us. Lasagna was decent. Will try other things on the menu again and update.
We dined-in on Friday night 10/21/22 at 7pm with reservations. In sharing this, I'm mindful of how local restaurants are impacted in our post-COVID economy. I had been looking forward to trying this for several years and was excited to see it had been relocated to Edmond. For the level of excitement I have carried, I was unfortunately disappointed in the dishes we ordered. The first two items I attempted to order, I was told they were not available that evening. We ordered Bolognese Pappardelle and Coal Miner's Special. We also ordered the spinach artichoke dip appetizer, but it was never brought out. However, we do plan to order here again because I'm sure the service was just having an off day....and because every pizza that walked past our table - our eyes and noses followed. Update on second visit - 10/28/22 at 6:45pm. My boyfriend went to go pick up the pizza he called in while I was on my way home from work. The hostess directed him to a checkout station where he was passed by several servers for several minutes until one finally asked if he had been helped yet. They said that he was supposed to be at another station. We got the Roma pizza and spinach artichoke dip. We liked the pizza but have personal preference for a crispier crust. The dip was great - the artichoke was diced which I thought was unique, it was served with light & airy bread.
I love everything about this place. My 2 girls and I got a round table that was tucked away in our own tiny little room. The decor and vibe of the place is very much like Italy; reminded me of the hole in the wall places we used to find by accident that only the locals knew about. The food was fantastic; they forgot my appetizer but I probably would have been too full to enjoy my entree so it’s fine. The kids loved it too, we can’t wait to go back!
I wasn't sure what wine I wanted, so Justin, my waiter, brought me a couple of samples and was determined to find me the perfect fit. The food was as amazing as always I had the eggplant parmigiana, and the service was excellent.Dine in: Yes
Just drove in for a date night. A very great atmosphere. Drinks were strong and food was excellent. Our waiter was superb. A uniquely great experience. I highly recommend this restaurant and understand the hype.
One of the best Italian restaurants in OKC. Really cool atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was incredible!
