Gabrielle is an amazing physical therapist and caring person. Her office is very conveniently located for me, making getting to mid-day sessions a breeze during my otherwise busy work schedule. Our sessions focused on empowering me with the tools and knowledge to get over some difficult knee pain. One day, she even dropped what she was doing to help me with a completely unrelated but critical health issue, and followed up later with a phone call to ensure I was still okay. She is an important fixture to the Van Ness community in DC and I would highly recommend her.
After years of intermittent neck pain, I pinched a nerve in my neck that bothered me for months. I had pain in my neck and shoulder and numbness and tingling that went down my left arm the internet told me these symptoms are called radiculopathy. This happened to me once a year or so but never lasted for more than a week since rest and some stretching would usually do the trick. But this time was more persistent. Traditional physical therapy didn't help so I finally invested the time to explore Alexander Technique. No exaggeration, it changed my life. Just a few lessons with Gabrielle had me thinking about my body and posture in an entirely new way. Sitting, standing and moving in general are now activities that I can approach in a more constructive way. And most importantly my neck and back pain are gone! Any time I start to feel symptoms creeping in again, I have a new set of tools for dealing with them. Alexander Technique is a great way to re-engage with how we move and Gabrielle is such an amazing teacher of the discipline. She has a knack for identifying central issues and addressing them caused dramatic improvements in my condition. Gabrielle was caring, knowledgeable, intuitive, and so positive in all my lessons with her I left feeling better every time. I can't say enough good things about her or my lessons with her.
I am a Registered Nurse with a long history of foot and pretty much every other joint issues. Mostly wear and tear. I have had some success with physical therapy over the years but had become accustomed to daily pain. I recently developed a plantar fibroma on the bottom of my foot. I searched the internet to find a movement specialist who focuses on the whole body. I can't believe how lucky and blessed I was to find Gabrielle. There was significant improvement with the first visit. Gabrielle is helping me as both a physical therapist and Alexander Technique Instructor. This is intense but amazing work. Worth every penny. I have spent so much on products I found online trying to fix my body. So much money. None of it has helped me like Gabrielle has. None of it. Gabrielle is teaching me to care for myself. She is helping me with the way I think about and move my body. This is powerful work. If you are feeling hopeless and fearful about being able to function, and are willing to have an open mind, and do what she tells you to do, you will cry tears of joy like I have. Good luck! Call Gabrielle and she will help you too.
After going to a few physical therapists, I found Gabrielle online. She knows the human body and the musculoskeletal structure and gave me great stretches and strengthening exercises to improve the problem areas. She cares about making people feel better. Thanks again!
Working with Gabrielle was a transformative experience. Her knowledge and caring helped me to navigate pain and attain levels of activity that I'd thought no longer were a possibility for me. The office and scheduling could not have been more convenient.
Working with Gabrielle virtually during the pandemic was a lifesaver for me. Now that we're back to PT in person, Gabrielle is helping me along my physical journey of healing from old sports injuries and back problems but also addresses my needs as a whole person. She combines traditional PT with Alexander Technique lessons, and re-evaluates my needs frequently. I highly recommend Gabrielle!
I have known Gabrielle for years, and she is an extremely talented physical therapist with a kind heart and fantastic listening skills! She creates a program to fit your specific needs and help you feel longterm relief from physical pain. She has also taught me a lot about the Alexander Technique, which has been so helpful to me in my recovery. If you are looking for a PT, look no further than Gabrielle :
Gabrielle is amazing! My daughter has really been struggling this year and being able to find and connect with Gabrielle has truly been life-changing for all of us. The Alexander technique has been amazing for us as a family.
My 17 year old daughter began her physical therapy with Gabrielle after she suffered a back injury after being involved in a car accident. She felt relief immediately following the first session. In addition, Gabrielle was able to provide relief from sport related injuries that cropped up once the back therapy was complete. It is difficult to see your child suffering even if they are truly a young adult. Thankfully, Gabrielle was able to educate and help. One item to note: check whether your insurance is accepted. In our case, the bills related to the accident were submitted for reimbursement to the auto insurance policy of the driver responsible. For the other bills, I submitted for payment to my regular health insurance company. BOTTOM LINE: You will benefit greatly from a caring, knowledgeable professional like Gabrielle. -Michele B.
