Dr Garber is Excellent. People don't realize but if your feet hurt, it's normally your shoes which can throw your hips & back out of alignment. Watch your shoes, carefully.
I had a stupid plantar's wart on my left foot. It was operated on by a doc in Corpus in the 90's. I operated on that thing later, it never went away from surgery #1. I finally got tired of trying to deal with it, & it felt as if a stone was in my shoe when I walked, barefoot or with shoes on.
Dr Garber actually took x-rays & stated that since I had that nasty thing for over 10 years, remember surgery #1 failed, the roots to it had intertwined with the bones in my feet. He operated, such a small scar, removed it & all of the matter. I have never had a problem with that since. That was in the 2004 era probably.
Later when my ingrown toenails started bothering me, because they grew back, Doc Garber operated on one of them. The other is fine. It is finally Not growing back.
Ingrown are normally caused by improper footwear.
Tip: do not EVER buy your child used shoes, & do NOT hand down shoes from one child to another. Shoes fit people differently & prior wear could & have messed up the feet & other body parts of people. Honestly never buy Used Shoes. They are worn & the wear pattern will not match yours. It will throw your body out of kilter, causing foot, ankle, leg, hip, & back pain.
Sometimes throwing away a pair of shoes, or switching shoes will heal your feet. Example: I visited my grandma who lived in NM when alive. I complained about my heels hurting, one in particular, the right. She told me to walk across the room, turn & walk back. I did so & she said & I quote, "Get those D shoes off & throw them in the trash. They were Richard Simmons shoes, the exercise guru of the 80s' or 90's. I thought that they would be good. She asked if I had another pair & I replied, well my cowboy boots lol I wore them for the remainder of the day & my feet felt back to normal the following day.
I had been to some podiatrist in Corpus, where we were living at the time & they missed the fact that it was my shoes. So that's how I know for certain footwear is crucial to our bodies. Now I am careful, wear open toe, or roomy shoes to allow my toenails not to hit or be squished. I do not wear heels any more, since my mid 20's when a podiatrist told me that if I did not stop wearing them I'd need bunion surgery before I hit 30. I wore my heels for nights out only, still have a couple of pair of Candies from the 70's & 80s. I love Candies brand of shoes, rubber sole, don't slip & fall, which I had done in the past being in outside sales for office equipment in El Paso where I'm from. Oh the pain to my knee, but the embarrassment factor alone was horrific.
Please take into consideration these facts that I've stated, it's from my own personal experience. Buy a better brand of shoe & one that fits you. If you cannot get a proper fit, like my Mom with a size 9, AA heel, have some made for you by a shoe maker, designer. :) It's well worth the cost when you consider how much you may spend on future medical costs. All of Mom's handmade shoes were far superior in durability & comfort.
Justin makes a cool cowboy boot that I bought on clearance for 30.00 L1301 (but is on clearance) at the Tony Lama “Outlet” meaning factory rejects. Those you have to try on to check for fit. Sometimes it's a minor flaw: stitches don't match, coloring, other times you may not be able to get your foot into the shoe or boot.
Watch your children, flip the shoes to where you can see the "wear pattern" on the bottom. Go to a podiatrist wearing the shoes that are your daily wear pair, or carry them in a bag so that he can see the bottoms, for you or your family members. Docs can tell from that what is hurting & why most of the time. Podiatrists can look at your feet and tell you about your overall health, too.
Dr Garber looked at my shoe wear & told me that my right knee was hurting. I laughed, said yeah, had orthopedic surgery on my knee. Out of room ty for reading
