My daughter had a total knee replacement last week at this ortho facility. The surgery went well so this is no reflection on the surgeon. The staff however, as well as the center is unacceptable for proper care. My daughter has a few stairs she must navigate and I was surprised to find out they do not have the portable practice stairs. Really? At an ortho center? She did take a long time in recovery but the nursing staff released her without having her try to walk. When she got home, she took her sweater off and she still had the iv in her arm. Her knee buckled and she fell four times, resulting in a ligament tear and opened stitches. I would think that being released without walking practice, she should have had an immobilizer. The next day she had surgery again to repair the damage. This time at Oasis Hospital…what a different experience! Wonderful caring staff that kept me up to speed during the procedure and afterward. All fixed and an immobilizer finally given to her for stability and lessons for stair usage with the walker. Use this facility if at all possible.
Husband has a surgery at 1030am but then got moved up to 745 and was 1st surgery of the day and they told him to check in at 515am. We got here at 5 and waited, by 530 we're still waiting outside. Now with 3 other patients waiting alsop. Place doesn't even open till 630 so why do they schedule people before that if they don't open doors. Now everyone got inside and checked in, husband didn't get called so he went up and asked; now we find out he's gonna be 2nd of the day and don't know what time it's going to be so we have to sit here.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful this surgery center is! From the COVID testing to recovery just an amazing experience! The staff is caring, compassionate and extremely calming! I have had multiple surgeries here and every time the experience has been exceptional! Top notch staff and exceptional care that all other surgery centers should model themselves after! Can’t wait to be able to write so I can send a thank you note to the awesome staff who cared for me! I highly recommend this center if you need surgery!
Everyone from the front desk to all of the Nurses were so very kind and compassionate. You all provide a calm and thorough environment. Thank you so very much.
My doctor David Ott was recommended by my primary dr. Doctor Ott has done both of my surgeries rotator cuff and knee at Gateway Surgery center. Gateway surgery Center is very professional and the staff are Amazing. The nurses calmed my fears and made me feel very comfortable. Thank you for the Amazing care going above and beyond to take care of my needs during surgery.
Such a wonderful and clean facility. I met with Sandi, Rita and Betsy in prep and recovery and I’ve got to say all three nurses were so helpful and caring. From the front desk all the way to being helped back out to my ride everyone was excellent. Thank you for such outstanding care!
The worst experience in a surgery center in my life. I was a college athlete so I did a lot of damage to my body through wear and tear, resulting in many shoulder, knee and foot surgeries over the years. I just had a corrective foot surgery and although the surgery itself may have went fine, the treatment I received by all but, the pre-op nurse was probably a violation of my patient rights. The OR Nurse didn't speak to me except to verify my surgery and tell me to move over from the gurney to the OR bed. The anesthesiologist didn't sedate me prior to entering the OR so I had a full on panic attack after be strapped to the table and not spoken to for several minutes by any staff. The post-op nurse was the the worst offender. She misplaced a bed pan that caused me to urinate all over the bed and myself immediately after waking up, then blamed me for it, pushed me and my wheelchair to face the wall and left me there after taking my bed away, refused to call my ride and made ME call myself, while still half asleep. THEN, tried to start an argument with me when my ride confronted her about the lack of communication and empathy when she called back to the center furious that they made me call and she was 30 minutes away, which I told the post-op nurse that I was in no shape to discuss anything with her. THEN, she refused to take me out to my ride, demanding another nurse do it. They never reviewed any post-op instructions with me or my ride, who happens to be like family and had full permission to receive medical info. I left the facility feeling that my dignity and personhood was violated when I was vulnerable. I have never experienced anything like this in my life.
Professional, efficient and friendly! Had my 15th orthopedic surgery here about 6 weeks ago - so I've been through the drill before. From check-in, to pre-op, to nerve-block/anesthesia, to surgery, to post-op - couldn't have been easier or smoother. Thanks to everyone involved in my care and helping me start my road to recovery!
