Story

Gathered Birth facilitates gathering together as mothers, parents, and a community, to care for and empower each other as we grow as parents. We offer support services and classes on childbirth, breastfeeding, and newborn care to help you gather the knowledge, tools, and confidence to approach your birth and parenthood with peace and joy.

Guiding Principles:

-Whoever you are, whoever you love, you are welcome at Gathered Birth. Respect and acceptance, always.
-Pregnancy, birth, and parenthood are natural processes, even when interventions are involved. Becoming a parent is an awesome thing, no matter how it happens.
-There is no "right way" to give birth or parent. Only you know what is best for you. Gathered Birth supports your choices.
-The purpose of childbirth preparation is to empower women to feel confident and aware as they approach their birth. Birth can be unpredictable, but we can help you feel prepared and confident as your birth story unfolds.
-Mothers posses deep intuition and instinct. When we care for and empower women, they learn to trust themselves and tap into that intuition.
-Partners (be they significant others, family members, friends) are integral, and need support too.
-It truly does take a village. Community involvement is a necessary and exciting piece of providing care to mothers.
