If you enjoy inappropriate sexual and racist comments, being gaslit by your managers and corporate, given less than cost of living raises, and being lied to constantly, this is a GREAT place to work. GEICO is going through a very rough time right now behind the scenes and financially AND THEY DESERVE EVERY BIT OF IT, and so your rates will probably go up without explanation at your first or next renewal. Not recommended. If you want to work here, be sure to do your due diligence and look on Reddit, Glassdoor, LinkedIn, and other reputable sources for what it is like to work at "The G." They pay decently for the area and the benefits are okay, but if you have worked there for 3+ years, you know that the pay and benefits have not kept up with the economy, inflation, or competitive salaries compared to other companies in the industry. Management will gaslight you and make you feel stupid for bringing issues up and then 6-12 months later will implement your idea or present it during a meeting as their own. If you are in the claims department, expect to experience periodic racism, sexism, and other harassment types I have actual hard evidence. This is real. There is absolutely zero growth in the Hawaii office so you are almost guaranteed to have very little professional growth or advancement unless you are doing things on your OWN, like seeking your state licenses, CPCU, SCLA, AIS, or other industry-related designations. AVOID GEICO AT ALL COSTS unless you are simply looking to get your foot in the door in the insurance industry and/or get some immediate management experience through the MDP/SPP/whatever-they-are-calling-it-now program, and then roll that out into another company that actually cares about you. PS - From an employee and customer perspective, CEO TC has completely changed the company culture for the worse since they were appointed. GEICO is not the same as it was pre-pandemic and doesn't seem like it will change for the better anytime soon.
It is A HORRIBLE experience to work with GEICO for a car accident I had in honululu. I paid full coverage, a couple thousands per year to GEICO, but when an accident happened in a parking lot, they did nothing for me!!! They only contacted me a month after I submitted the claim. And after that, they are telling me they can only provide coverage for rental less than 30 days. If they could contacted me earlier not a month after I submitted my claim, I could returned that car before the 30 days window! Now what they can do is just keeping increasing their voice yelling at me and repeating it is all my fault not to remember every detail of their policy! How ridiculous!! I paid a lot of money every year, consistently for a couple of years, and for one of the first accidents, they are not helping me at all, instead, they just blamed me and asked myself to pay everything out of my pocket. If I want to pay the accident out of my pocket, why do I hire GEICO?? They provided nothing but charging money! I am so SICK of GEICO, and will transfer to other companies and never come back!
I called to cancel my policy with Geico today as I found a better price from another place. I got a amazing agent today named Henry on the phone, he went through my policy and he helped me. His customer service is excellent and because of him I didn’t cancel my policy and will remain with Geico. 5star service. Thank you Henry
I been with geico for over 5 years. I never really had any problem with customer service. Every time I've called they've always answered and helped me in any way they could. Ive saved a lot with the discounts that I qualified for and my situations were always solved in a timely manner. Except for this one time - but that wasn't really important so I didn't mind. Reps are friendly and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the app. So easy to use, so convenient, saves so much time!
IF you move to Hawaii cancel your GEICO and find a different insurance company. My claim has been open for 105 days now, or 4 months and they still have not processed a payment. If you do not mind not having a car for 4 months then stay with GEICO, but if you actually need your car and an insurance company that does there job drop GEICO as fast as you can!! You have been warned, this is not mainland GEICO, so don't expect any service at all from anyone.
I am overseas, but my daughters live in Hawaii. Christopher one of the reps. there helped me establish a new policy. He was very courteous. Thank you sir!!
I’m so through with GEICO!! From lying customer service agents to long wait times to answer their phone. This morning I went for my safety check appointment. The card issued on the app doesn’t even begin until the end of the month and it took me over 45 minutes to get a current card! This is not the service I expect from the most expensive insurance company. Also, when my car was totaled out, instead of the 30 day car rental that I pay for , I was only allowed 10. You only get 30 if your car is in the shop. Another thing they “automatically” do is charge for STACKED even if you only have one car on your policy. So check your policy and demand a refund. They only refunded me for 6 months when they’ve been overcharging me for 5 years. DONT JUST PAY YOUR PREMIMUMS! ASK QUESTIONS! READ YOUR POLICY!!! I guarantee you will find overcharging! GEICO’s virtual assistant, Gabby, is the worst. I guarantee you high blood pressure while she takes you in circles because she cannot read not understand the questions.
If you like paying premiums while having your claims denied - this is the place for you. Despite a year of COVID shutdowns, Geico Hawaii says, that despite having reported the incident when it happened, didn’t have the damage appraised in time so now they don’t have to pay my claim despite accepting my premium all this time. Buyer beware. RUN!
On the phone today with 2 different Geico agents, Margarita and Paige. Both were very pleasant to talk to over the phone. Overall an awesome experience servicing my policies. As a matter of fact, Geico has been doing a wonderful job in the customer service category. That including agents on the mainland. So far I had dealt with 10 agents over the phone for all my insurance needs and not been disappointed.
Got into an accident and received a call the next day. The workers were very professional, but also compassionate. They made sure I got all the information I needed for any medical claims. The claims adjuster also took care of the vehicle. He found a body shop for the repairs and took care of the towing. All we had to do was hand over the keys. We dealt with Jonathan and Jason. Very satisfied and appreciative with the service we've received.
