Great experience! I had an issue with my permanent retainer which had come loose and was constantly poking me, causing a great deal of discomfort. I had an appointment with another practice and they cancelled on me last minute on a Saturday afternoon and had no appointments until 3 days later. Feeling though I couldn’t deal with the discomfort any longer, I called around other practices and thankfully Gentle Dental was able to squeeze me in the same day! Staff was personable and knowledgeable. The facility was very clean. The doctor made sure I was happy with the result before I left. Thank you Gentle Dental for saving me from an extremely uncomfortable weekend!
Doctor Li and Heather are THE BEST! I have been going to the Brookline GD for a while now and have recently acquired some general anxiety and they took such care with me on my recent cavity and crown work and I felt wholly cared for. All the work I have had done in the last 20 years has been quality work with no issues. I cannot recommend the Brookline Gentle Dental enough.
DO NOT use Gentle Dental for any dental needs to especially for orthodontic work. It is an absolute scam that they leave many details out of when you go through them for Invisalign treatment. The doctor only comes to the office one Friday of the month so to make an appointment is nearly impossible and they give you little to no alternatives for appointments. On top of this they canceled 2 of my appointments which means that I have to wait an extra month to be seen. A third time I arrive for my appointment that they had rescheduled and the doctor was not even at the clinic!!!!! On the days that I have actually been seen, I've had to wait between 45-1 hour to be brought into a patient room. The communication internally is terrible and one person might tell you one thing and someone else says something opposite. On top of all of this, I signed in writing a 24 month payment plan. My treatment has been 12 months and 2 days before my final appointment they called and said that once my attachments are taken off, I have to pay in FULL. That is a year of payment with 2 days notice. Their solution has been to offer opening a credit card that will pay it off for me with a 17% interest rate. I am completely appalled at the utter lack of patient respect to a signed contract. Whatever you choose, do not use Gentle Dental and their Invisalign program. It has been absolutely horrible.
As usual, a punctual, thorough, and effective cleaning with Yelena! Best hygienist ever. Also a nice visit with Dr. Li, checking in on things she's fixed for me previously! I recommend this practice to all my family and friends.

Although the hygenist I had was very nice the only reason I am giving 2 starts instead of 1, the dentist Dr. Li was very rushed during my check up, and I felt as if she kept trying to sell me on more expensive services. My main issue was this location's lack of organization and communication to their patients. Here's a summary of my experience the last being my biggest and ongoing issue: 1 During the appointment, I sat in the check up room for over 20 minutes, before I decided to walk out and ask the front desk how much longer it would be. The receptionist then told me to wait a few more minutes, and rushed around to find people. I'm pretty sure they forgot that I was even there. There were also a lot of interruptions people coming in and out of the room to get things which was not a pleasant experience. 2 For first time patients, the "initial check up" and cleaning must be done on separate appointments, so I had to come in 2 days in a row, which is inconvenient. They said that they told me this in an email beforehand, which I went back and looked at. The email was poorly worded and could be misinterpreted easily, they did not make it clear that I needed to make 2 separate appointments to get my 1st cleaning 3 I booked an appointment in April 2023 online because they don't take appointments over the phone. On this appointment, I left a note saying that I was with DeltaCare, which only allows me to select 1 in network dentist to be my primary care dental provider. I selected Dr. Li. After my initial check up, I was told that I had a balance owing, and they did not accept my insurance. They did not make me aware of this before they finalized my appointment even though I had a note and did not mention it before I stepped into the cleaning. 4 It's currently January 2024, and I am still trying to get a hold of the manager of Gentle Dental Brookline to help me settle my bill. I have spent many days, and several hours on the phone between insurance and this clinic. DeltaDental DeltaCare assures me that Dr.Li is in network, and I do not owe any money to the clinic, while Gentle Dental receptionists tell me that they are not in network, and do not call insurance for patients. I told them that this is not for me specifically, but they as a whole need to call DeltaDental to tell them that they do not want to be in network, because Dr.Li is still listed as a provider and can be selected for this insurance plan that only allows for 1 dental provider. I've been told that notes have been made on my file, but then I call back a couple days later and a different receptionist says that I have no notes listed. I've been told that the manager must handle this, but when I ask to speak to the manager, I am told she has to call me back which she never has. There has to be more than 4 receptionists there because that's how many different people I've talked to, all of which were unhelpful, and I still can't get a hold of this manager. I write this review while on hold with Gentle Dental it's been 15 mins. I have no issue paying the balance, however I find it unfair that I paid a dental insurance premium, which is completely useless if my only dental provider is Dr.Li, who does not accept this insurance plan. I was also told by 1 receptionist that there have been issues with DeltaCare with other patients, however the clinic has done nothing to rectify this issue because they "do not call insurance". If you have DeltaCare, PLEASE do not select Dr. Li, because you will not be able to use your plan. If you are not with DeltaCare, I hope you don't need any help from reception or admin, because it is a nightmare. **Edit** I finally got a hold of someone in the clinic 1 hour spent trying to reach them, and apparently there was an adjustment made on my account 4 days ago so I have a balance owing of $0. No one from the clinic updated me, but I'm glad its finally over. I hope they resolve this insurance issue for future patients.
If you asked me last year I would say this place is great, however I called recently to schedule an emergency visit and it was a total ShtShow! For an entire hour the phone went directly to the holding cue. Finally I left a voice mail and Dr. Le called back and swore I had never been there before despite the fact that I had seen her at least 3 times last year. Somehow the system did not find me. They later told me they had a new system - No apologies btw. Provider was argumentative and condescending. Totally unexpected from someone in this field. They then proceeded to quote me an insane care plan bill without taking into consideration my insuranance. When i question the quote they spoke over me and we're dismissive! Something has changed about this staff and I would definitely not recommend going to this location.
Very friendly staff. They were very informative and took their time to explain each and every step of the process to me. And also explained what I might want to do for my upcoming visits as well for best health. Will definitely be sticking with them going forward. Let me also add that they were right on time with the appt which I can’t say the same for my previous dentists office. And the reception was very nice and welcoming as well!
I've been a patient at the Brookline location since 1990. I've been very fortunate over the years to have had the best in care. Everyone has been extremely kind and caring. I'm very lucky!!
Great staff and very clean office as you would expect any dentist office to be. I felt welcomed and heard. The reception desk was also attentive and caring. I was nervous about going somewhere new. They made me feel like they have known me.
