Acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine are expertly and compassionately practiced by Angela Gabriel. My specific complaints, as well as general well-being, were greatly enhanced by visits scheduled to my convenience. Facility is very clean modern, calm, and pleasant.
I am only starting at GW Center for Integrative Medicine on my process of dealing with long-COVID. I am undergoing what is for me an unlivable, unbelievably difficult situation. And even now, at the very beginning before I have any diagnosis or potential solutions/mitigations/approaches, I am giving them 5 stars because of Ashley Drapeau. I could never express in this review how much I appreciate this doctor PA. I could never have asked for a better provider and I am effortlessly and admittedly desperately giving over my entire self and care to her because I trust her beyond words. Her expertise and knowledge are unparalleled, alongside a humility towards what she doesn't know, alongside an empathic, loving manner that I've never found before in a provider. If there is anyone that can help me get my life back, I believe it is her.
I'm thankful to have gotten the opportunity to be tested for CIRS under Dr. Yakel. However, there were some cons regarding treatment. He doesn't provide medical diagnosis or treatment according to his legal agreement. Dr. Yakel has a chiropractic background, but I believe he is considered more of a non-medical consultant regarding his work with CIRS. The M.D., Dr. Kogan, who oversees Dr. Yakel's work from a far via the Washington D.C. area and who I was required to have an expensive appointment with prior to working with Dr. Yakel, admitted to me he didn't know about CIRS, which is why he hired Dr. Yakel. Yet, I paid Dr. Kogan a similar fee to that of another female CIRS M.D. in the Overland Park, KS, area who is actually knowledgeable in CIRS. Why is Dr. Kogan's fee so high if he's not an authority on CIRS? Because Dr. Yakel isn't considered a medical practioner, I wonder if this is why he didn't provide me with written or typed resources on CIRS? I was expected to take my own written notes during all appointments. He was reluctant to write anything down when I asked. This was challenging and unlike what I've experienced with other holistic practioners. I mention this because I know someone personally who consulted with that other female CIRS M.D. in the Overland Park, KS, area who provided the patient with a comprehensive packet of information/papers on CIRS, so the patient could take time to familiarize themselves after the appointment and in a non-rushed manner. No documents or resources were provided to me by Dr. Yakel! I found Dr. Yakel coming to some appointments unprepared, because he'd ask questions that signaled to me he didn't remember my case at first. Overall, considering cost and my experience, I'd choose another CIRS practioner over Dr. Yakel and Dr. Kogan if I had the chance to find CIRS care all over again. Also, I experienced an unprofessional situation with Dr. Kogan that prompted me to follow-up with the business manager. It made me question the ethics and maturity of this partnership between Dr. Yakel and Dr. Kogan. As a vulnerable patient, I wish I'd known that other CIRS medical practioners existed even within KS who may have given me more value for the high cost.
I have been visiting GW CIM and Dr. Orceyre for about 8 months for both naturopathic treatment and acupuncture. I could not be more pleased with the service and care.
Completely neglected. Several emails never answered, fax never acknowledged, phone calls from me but never vice-versa. One would hope that the care and attention from such a facility considering their fees would be much improved.
Dr Kogan and his team at CWCIM provide invaluable medical advice and treatment. I have EDS, POTS and MCAS and Dr. Kogan not only helped me get back on my feet when no one else could, but he provided me with advice and wisdom that I continue to use every day since I moved out of the area. Just go see them and you won't be disappointed in the outstanding care you receive!!
GW Center for Integrative Medicine has provided exceptional care. The health care providers and front office staff are talented, friendly, and accommodating -- I'd highly recommend the practice!
Extraordinary compassion, professionalism, care, knowledge, attention and wisdom. So grateful for the Center.
Dedicated family of practitioners that enjoy working together to provide comprehensive care for all our patients. This is the most collegial place I have ever had the honor of working with. Working here has definitely shown me that there are various ways of healing people beyond just medicating. While it unfortunately does not accept insurance, we genuknely do try to work with people who need our services; often times directing them to other options if we are not a good fit or could be better served somewhere else. If the only thing you complain about is the price, you probably were never a patient here as we work with and for our patients. Never against. So if you're in need of medical help and have exhausted other sources, give us a try.
I was very disappointed when I called this place for an inquiry regarding High dose intravenous vitamin C prescribed by my physician from the Riordan Clinic in Wichita Kansas. By the way, the best and oldest in the business. I honestly cannot say the same about the GW Center for Intergrative Medicine. From the very first call I was screened on my ability to pay the $450 cash consultation fee required. I explained that I was very familiar with the practice. What I needed from them was to continue my protocol prescribed by my physician. They absolutely refused and would not even accept a call. Or a referral from the Chief Medical Director following me. They are very pretentious and selective regarding their practice. It seems to me, they do not care about making a difference in alternative medicine but rather offering and alternative life style to the rich only. It is all about the money, not alternative health care.
