Had an amazing experience here. Everyone was so friendly and nice. Loved the great German food. Never had German potato salad and it's delicious. Everyone was so warm and inviting.
Went to the Christmas market event on Saturday. It was just a glorified bazaar with some German food. Certainly not worth the 50 mile drive. Next time I'll stay closer to home and go to the one in Mount Angel. This review is based only on the Christmas market. I'm certain that I would the other activities of the society more than enjoyable
Christmas market was disappointing. Hardly any traditional German style gifts/crafts. Was expecting more since I brought my German born mom down from Beaverton. Hopefully it will be better next year.
We just had an amazing 40th High School Reunion at the German American Society. Such a wonderful venue! The price was very reasonable and working with Marge the General Manager made everything so easy. I can't recommend this site enough, perfect for any large parties!
We chose the German American Society for several reasons. We needed a place that could accommodate 175 people indoors, a place where we could have both a wedding ceremony space and a separate reception space, a place that was attractive and affordable, a place that would allow us to decorate the day before and a place that allowed us to choose our own catering situation. German American Society checked all the boxes!! But there were some extra benefits. First, the place was absolutely gorgeous inside. Oh my gosh!!! We have driven by this place a hundred times and never imagined how beautiful it was inside. Two, the dance floor is huuuge!! Three, and best of all, there was Margie. Margie is the event person for German American Society and she is a GEM!!!! From our first meeting onward, she was the best person I've ever worked with when putting on an event. There are not enough words to truly explain how awesome she is!!! I felt this way before the wedding, but afterwards, I am even more impressed. My day-of wedding coordinator was a no-show. I suddenly had to change my role from mother-of-the-bride to wedding coordinator. I quickly delegated what seemed like countless details, and Margie had my back throughout the entire ordeal. She was so encouraging all evening and often filled in whenever she could. She made this the best experience I could have possibly imagined!! I was so thankful, I ended up donating some of our wedding supplies to the G.A. Society in appreciation for how amazing Margie was from the very first day we met her. I find myself trying to think of other events I could have there!! If you are considering the German American Society for your wedding, I guarantee you will have an amazing experience!!!! Do NOT hesitate!!!
The building is beyond amazing. The staff incredible. And the food....oh yummy for my tummy. Thanks to all for such a great school auction with out you we couldn't have done so well.
I hear these folks have a really great Oktoberfest the first weekend of September. I can't wait to check out the band!!!!
Brand new building, wonderful facility, everything is ultra modern, well made and well-maintained. In line with the German stereotypes of orderliness and cleanliness, this place is an excellent environment.
Very friendly place with a lot of great resources for people looking into German culture and language. And they have their own crew of German folk dancers!!!
Beautiful decor, and a great space to host a party. My uncle hosted his 60th birthday here and it was a blast for all.
