Bernie planned the most amazing trip of our lives. We left just about everything up to Bernie and Getaways and he created our dream South African honeymoon and more. From the minute we left Portland, every detail was taken care of. He recommended amazing safaris in Africa and set us up in the perfect place to enjoy Cape Town and South African wine country Franschhoek. He had porters waiting to help us through airports, he scheduled knowledgeable tour guides. We felt safe the whole trip. We were treated like royalty. We'll be using Getaways Travel exclusively from here on out. Thanks, Bernie!

I asked Bernie to make arrangements for a complex college exploration trip with my granddaughter in the mid-Atlantic region. We had a tight schedule over 1week with specific appointments at eight schools beginning in Washington, DC and ending in the Raleigh Durham area. Every detail from flights to rental car to hotels was perfect. Our hotels were lovely, affordable and located conveniently to the schools. We picked up the car at Dulles and returned it at RD without having to mortgage the house. Flights were as direct as one can get from RDM. I give Getaways an A+. Nikki Squire

My wife and I have taken several wine and golf trips to Portugal, Argentina, Indonesia and recently Dubai and South Africa. They have been extremely well planned to the smallest detail and of good value, and better yet, a wonderful experience, He has been very responsive to any questions and has resolved quickly any situations during travel. Without any reservations I would highly recommend Getaways Travel.

We recently used Getaways Travel to extend a cruise trip in Australia and New Zealand. We have been using their services for 10 years. As usual, our experience was wonderful. We especially appreciate the upgrades we usually receive due to our travel agent booking.

This was my first experience hiring a travel agent so I don't have a comparison unfortunately. My assumption was that a travel agent should save a person time, energy, and the hassle of making their own arrangements. This was not the case in our experience. I will also say this company wasn't referred to us by a friend or family member. The communication was very poor, there were several mistakes made throughout the process, and we felt we were being "up-sold" at every step. And, when obvious mistakes were pointed out to the agent there was a lack of concern and willingness to remedy the issue. I will never refer any person to this agency and especially the agent we used. In fact, I would steer folks clear of this agency all together. Please don't make the same mistake we did. We should have made our own travel plans or at least searched for a referral from a friend.
