Leaving this review to inform why exactly it deserves a 1 star rating. The primary jeweler was very cold and rude overall, resonating in a very bitter-scornful attitude when asked questions about some particular jewelry and work that he does. You shouldn't treat customers like that who simply are asking questions.They give you the business. Very unprofessional work and I just cannot recommend it. All of this for overpriced pieces that seem more like they came from Hobby Lobby. Do yourself a favor and pass on this store and save yourself the trouble. As for the manager, get some class. you need it.

I took a ring to be resized, it was ready quickly and I thought the price was reasonable. When I went to pick it up, I decided that I really needed it to be a half size larger. They were happy to take it back and resize again for no additional fee, and it was ready the next day. Overall, a pleasant experience.

Horrible, they not only screamed at my friend over the phone until she cried, they asked for almost twice the original quoted price. Her boyfriend went in to get her stone back and was treated aggressively. Neither one has received an apology. Horrible customer service will never recommend.

I stopped in recently and the man at the counter whom I assumed was the jeweler himself because of the magnifying glasses and apron, never even said hello nor acknowledged my existence. He had an energy of dismissive arrogance. My daughter was getting a stone set in gold and was given an estimate, the price ended up being three times the voiced estimate. Since most of us aren’t made of money or have money trees, that was way out of my daughter’s budget and he verbally assaulted her for not being to pay what was asked and having to ask for the setting to be removed. Don’t give this guy your money! I guess he has be charged of purchasing precious metals without the proper permit. Sounds like a guy who doesn’t have integrity and do you want to do business with that type of energy?! I know I don’t!! Will never go back there!

One of the staff members is quite nice and extremely helpful! The owner, however, is an absolute undelight, not mellowed but rather embittered. In my sparse encounters with him, he's been as arrogant, agressive, and impolite; I can't recommend this work in comparison to other local columbia businesses and feel as if a bridge has been burned. I will not be returning after the way I was spoken to at the counter.

I had a ton of people recommend Gibson Jewelers to me and I'm SO thankful they did! They repaired my precious necklace in less than two days, and did an amazing job. It looks as almost as good as new and it's very shiny! The lady at the front desk and the gentleman with her when I went to pick it up today were super kind! I was also surprised that the repair was so affordable, because other jewelers are so expensive!

Chose Gibson because of the great ratings so I thought I would pay it forward. I brought a necklace that had been sitting in my jewelry box broken and tangled for two years. They had great customer service, very timely, and fixed my delicate necklace. Reasonable prices and military friendly. Thank you for taking care of me! HIGHLY recommend!!!!

Gregg helped me design my own custom engagement ring. The band was hand crafted in New York to match the engagement ring. I was able to purchase a consignment ring to use as the center diamond stone. Gregg and his wife were extremely helpful and patient with helping me achieve our perfect engagement ring. I would like to thank him for all of his help! Bonnie & Mike

Unfortunately, I had a very negative experience here. Last Friday, I came in to inquire about the cost of changing one watch battery out and pressing on two watch backings. The gentleman told me it would be $10 for the battery and they’d put the backings on for free as long as I’m aware they wouldn’t be responsible if the crystal cracked. I came back on Wednesday to get the services done and upon check out, a female employee attempted to charge me $20. When I informed her that was not the price originally quoted, she became rude and said, “It’s $10 for the battery. $5 per backing for ‘his time.’” I calmly explained that wasn’t the price quoted and asked the gentleman I first spoke with who was standing there the entire time if he remembered our conversation. He immediately lied and said our discussion was a year ago ????, but when I said it was on Friday and relayed some details about the conversation he said “Oh yeah, I told her $10.” TLDR; attempted to overcharge me double the quoted price and very rude employees. Buyer beware!

I bought a watch online and needed it sized to my wrist. I took it to Gibson and they fitted it in less than 5 minutes for a reasonable price. The owner and staff were friendly and personable. I would recommend them to anyone that appreciates good service and prefers to support local business.
