Goldwater Brewing Co.

The range and quality of beers here are not to be missed. At a minimum they range from eminently drinkable to downright sublime. Very creative takes on conventional styles to some unique beers of their own creation. The award winning Machine Gun Teddy is as good a brown ale as you'll find anywhere . If you can get there on a Friday or Saturday, head to the downstairs Goldmine and try some of the amazing Barrel selection beers. The barrel aged Desert Rose is one of a kind and worthy of any effort expended to try it . A very special beer. These guys love beer and make great stuff.

In A Nutshell: -Goldwater Brewing which is located just off Goldwater Boulevard and Scottsdale Road is a beast of brewery. -The brewery caught my eye after checking out the photos of their beers (and there were plenty of other breweries in the area I could have tried). -My brother and I had some time to kill before catching a flight out of Phoenix and we wanted to check out a brewery. -The location is very cozy. -They have a nice industrial feel w/ the open layout, copper bar top, canning machine and popcorn maker. -The Birthday Suit IPA is an excellent West Coast IPA at 7.3%, I loved it. -The Hop Chowda New England IPA at 6.4% was my favorite. -I've never seen or tasted a cloudy IPA, the color stayed solid and the taste is unbelievable. -So unbelievable that I had to it canned in their 32 oz. can so I could bring it to my beer drinking buddy who's a VP at Applied Materials. Overall, I can't leave out their popcorn. I'm a popcorn freak and their popcorn is the BEST. Big popped kernels w/ a touch of spice thanks to their thinly sliced jalapenos!!! Great idea.

One of my favorite places in Scottsdale. Great beers of all varieties. The must haves for me are Desert Rose (prickly pear ale) and Hop Chowda (hazy IPA). Only popcorn to snack on but it doesn’t even matter because there are plenty of other places to eat around there. Super creative and locally inspired beers. You won’t be disappointed if you love beer!!
