Disappointed in the staff at the Overland Park Golf Galaxy. Similar to Dick’s Sporting Goods they have sale items marked by colored dots. I picked out a pair of shoes marked with a pink dot which the signs in the store said take an extra 40% off but the staff wouldn’t honor it. I was told shoes aren’t apparel even though they had them marked.
Ordered a driver that locally has been hard to get. Staff helped me order and it was in my hands in less than 2 days! Only problem was the shipping store left the security tag on the shaft. Dan and staff at the Overland Park store quickly helped remedy the situation. So thank you very much. I will come back to this store for future needs.
Scheduled a fitting. 2 hours, 2 fittings for irons and clubs. Went to reschedule from 4 pm to an earlier time. Lady said “just come in” at noon. Next day- at noon, completely booked. Had to buy clubs somewhere else.
" Golf shop " This place is a golf specialty store, everything was well organized Price was different from what I expected
Was scheduled for a driver fitting, and the fitter seemed that he wanted me to buy certain clubs only, instead of trying out different brands and fitting me. The first club he handed me was a ping and when I hit it he said I think we found your club as if we were done. I was scheduled for an hour and was expecting to try at least four different club types, and figure out which Shaft and degrees worked best for my swing. I have a typical golfers slice and was looking for forgiveness, but still wanted distance. I wanted to try a cobra LTDX club, and the one he gave me was slicing, I looked at the club head and it was the LS version which is made for a really good golfer that hits the sweet spot consistently, I had to inform him that I needed the max version which was more suited for my swing. He informed me he did not have one for me to hit so he gave me the standard version. I did not do well with that club either. I asked him how much certain clubs were that I was hitting and he said you’ll be spending $500. Well it was $600, it would’ve been nice if he was more in the ballpark. I ended up with a callaway, but I’m still disappointed I didn’t get to hit the club that I went there to hit. When I had first called they said I could hit any club that they had in stock, as I walked out of the store I walked by the cobras and they had the max version there, so I think he was just too lazy to go get me what I wanted to try. So all in all very disappointed, and probably could’ve picked this club just by the research I had done. I also asked if he had any data that I could take with me, and he said no we don’t do that. But on the back of the receipt I had , it had all the spaces for data to be filled in, as in swing speed and such.
Always the worst experience going in and I try to give them one more chance. Nobody wants to help and I’ve recommended people that store and they tell me they just walked out, because they felt ignored. Got new grips on all my clubs and they are all not aligned and their where a couple of problems when I picked them up. I would recommend other places.
They look like they have a decent selection, not too many used ones. However I looked around for a good 10 minutes and no one came over to help me. I don’t think I look like the traditional golfer but they were too busy watching golf on tv.
It's a 5.11 clothing shop now instead of a Golf Galaxy. Lots of black gray dark green and pumpkin colors, trigger discipline vibe, sales roll from product type to type.
Worst retail experience I've had in years. Went in to discuss making an adjustment or two to my driver or just buy a new one. Gary the older gentleman in the back told said to go take golf lessons then turned his back on me. My handicap is 6 so I'm decent and I simply wanted to bounce some ideas around but walk away offended. I will share my experience with everyone on my Facebook and will email everyone in my golf league to ensure they avoid such an experience. Sad how this store don't value customers.
Had a putter fitting, then purchased a putter. They take the price of the fitting off if you buy a putter. Really glad I bought this way, as I got a putter specific to my stroke.
