I visited this location for a club fitting full bag, and it was the most pleasant experience I could have imagined! Chris Parlett was my coach, and he was incredibly patient, high attention to detail, and although the session was only supposed to be 150 minutes, he spent well over 3 hours with me. No pressure to buy new clubs although I did!, and truly there to see if clubs could add to my game.
Not as advertised. Not suitable for beginners. Awfully expensive. A bit disorganized. I received a lesson/fitting package as a gift. The gift giver was assured that the experience would be suitable for a beginner. Nope! Much of the lesson involved golf swing jargon that just isn't going to be understood by a beginner. Hey, if you know the difference between an open and closed shoulder in your backswing, or the difference between a strong and weak grip hint: now I know it's nothing to do with how hard you grab the club, then you aren't a beginner, and GolfTec might work for you. Anyway, I stood open mouthed as my coach spewed utter jibberish at me. I stopped him early, and let him know I didn't understand the lingo. Didn't really help. Despite their claims, they really don't have a curriculum for beginners. Beginners need a bunch of instruction in set up and swing fundamentals that really don't benefit from GolfTec's admittedly cool elaborate video and computer swing tracking technology. Hey, I get that an advanced golfer, who swings consistently, might love the video breakdown looking for swing faults. A beginner is going to have enough self evident swing faults that this technology is overkill. It's like using a sledgehammer to push in a tack. And GolfTec is expensive. Anyone getting lessons on a weekly basis is definitely going to be paying GolfTec the equivalent of a car payment. Hey, I'm not saying it's not worth it. It's just that for beginners, there are cheaper and more efficient ways to learn the fundamentals. My friends who have had success with GolfTec are both far from beginner level, and are pretty indifferent to cost. If that describes you, great! You might love GolfTec. Me, not so much. Not as advertised.
This is the best golf instruction out there, for people who are very serious about improving their game. Trust the instructors and the data their tech gives you on your swing, and follow the instructor’s advice and you are guaranteed to improve. Takes a serious commitment of time and money but my instructor, Josh Nelson, is wonderful. Patient, informative, a joy to work with, he’s dropped my handicap significantly in a matter of weeks. I cannot recommend this place enough. Their packages include practice sessions after each lesson, and you can book your own practice sessions in between lessons with their app and watch and analyze your lessons and practice sessions in the app as well. Having an indoor range with all that swing data on video instantly accessible to you in all weather conditions is an absolute game changer. Trust this company and their instructors and you will see incredible results!
Having had a number of golf instructors over the years, I can say that with the technology that golf tec uses, I see results more quickly and I am able to use the video paybacks to help me make adjustments to my golf swing without relying on ball flight alone like at the driving range. The numbers and angles of my ball flight are also extremely helpful rather than relying on my guesstimate alone. This place is not for beginners. Looking at an earlier review, if you don't know what hip sway, shoulder tilt, open stance, etc mean or even how to look for it, then you are better off starting with a beginners class until you have some semblance of a swing before moving to golf tec which is really very pricy. The club fittings are very useful and I am always grateful for their indoor heated practice areas which allow me to improve my game even in the off season.
Tim Fuhrer took me from a 20+ handicap down to a 10 in a little over a year. I cannot explain how great of a coach he is. I didn't think I would like the analytics of Gofltec, but it was a game changer with Tim. Seeing what I was doing compared to what I felt I was doing made all the difference. Tim is such a nice guy and so easy to work with. My wife is a much better golfer than me and Tim just made a few little changes to her swing and she got even better. Cannot say enough great things.
Tim Fuhrer is a great teacher. Makes concepts for the amateur understandable. I was a serial slicer...now I'm hitting draws! Work in progress, definitely breaking 80 this summer!
I have been going to GolfTec in Cherry Creek for a year now and have seen a dramatic improvement in my ball striking. My coach is Brian Byrd and he is fantastic. He is very patient and encouraging. I once had a lesson with Bryan at an outdoor facility in Denver and a woman was getting a lesson from another coach right next to us and I couldn't believe how poorly the other coach was treating this woman, talking to her like she was stupid I personally wanted to belt the other coach for this poor woman. Bryan has NEVER talked to me like that, and has only been positive in his message. I can definitely say that using GolfTec and seeing Brian has improved my game dramatically.
Had a great experience getting a fitting here. However when I decided to order clubs, for an upcoming trip I was taking, I was told the custom clubs I ordered could be delivered by the time the scheduled date of the trip "no problem" date fast approaching...still no clubs. I called they said it was out of their hands. Loaning me a set...but, still pissed. I'm sure I could have found the clubs I ordered somewhere for a comparable price. Feel pretty cheated.
I love this place! Brian Byrd is a great instructor and he has helped me drop my handicap from a 14 to an 8 and I am confident that it will fall further! Chris also did a great job fitting me with a driver. Would recommend!
Highly recommend Chris Parlett for club fittings or any improvements you're looking to make to your golf game. Extremely knowledgeable and has a clear willingness to find whatever's right for you.
