Met this awesome group of people last winter on their MLK ski trip and recently attended a fantastic burlesque variety show with them. Looking forward to over night camping and other activities with like-minded people.
I have done several activities with Goombay going back to the 90's and it's ALWAYS a good time! The staff are experienced, knowledgable, professional, approachable, and fun. In my experience, people who come to these events are cool, down to earth people who know how to have a good time without getting too crazy. I will keep attending their events as long as they have them.

This is a phenomenal group of people! I'm new to the area and have been searching for a hiking group I could join and feel apart of. I'm so glad I found this group! The organizers are always friendly and welcoming, especially to new hikers. They host alot of activities and they are well planned and organized. If you are looking to get outdoors and meet some nice folks, join this group! They are A+++
I went on a Hike and Hang with them yesterday, July 27 in one of the DC parks. I already thought it would be fun but it was SO nice. Location, weather, good group of people I'd never met everything came together to make it lovely. I could have relaxed in those trees under the sky in my hammock for hours with them. On the walk back it suddenly got so humid so that was tough But all the guides attitudes helped. I was worried they'd be like "just deal with it" because I've had that experience from people a lot unrelated to this organization. But instead they joked around and made us laugh. I hope I can do this again sometime.
Went on a hike with this group and it was absolutely amazing. 6 miles and every level of walker! Energy was so positive and welcoming! Leaders were placed all through to ensure no one was left behind. I can't wait for the next adventure, so grateful to have been introduced to this group!
I was introduced to hiking through Goombay. I enjoy their hikes because they are organized, assign hike leaders to monitor and support hikers of all paces, and they don't leave anyone behind. I highly recommend Goombay if you want to get some experience hiking!
A young man decided years ago to think outside the box, and created an outlet for adult children. If you love the outdoors, sports, and good company, there's something waiting for you to do with Goombay. Never disappointed, and always impressed by the dedication, hard work, and care given by the founder and his team. Goombay gets my endorsement :
