Our experience was not that great. We were seated by a very drafty window, and our server was super slow. We sat and got our drinks, then 10 minutes later, she asked if we wanted appetizers, which we ordered, then she never came back after another good 15 minutes. we had to flag her down to place our order. Had the sweet and sour chicken with fried rice. Which fried rice is usually, let's say, fried this was barely warmed up from a steam rice. We also ordered chicken Lo Mein, which tasted like a wood flavor. The Pepsi was good. You could tell it tasted like they cleaned the machine often.
While I didn't get to try the dining in or dim sum experience, their take out was delicious. The sauces were very tangy and savory. The crab rangoons left me unsatisfied however. There was basically no cream cheese in them, but there was a lot of crab. The fried rice was okay. I got the spicy chicken which I was a fan of. I feel like it would have been better had I dined in.
Most excellent in every way! The Peking duck is superb and sushi is outstanding and appetizers are scrumptous! Excellent and generous people run this place and very friendly knowledgeable staff! A rare gem of a restaurant and worth every penny! We will be back
I ordered from Grand House for the first time with their online ordering, ordered a order of spring rolls and a Philly roll. It said it would be ready in 20 min and I showed up probably in 10 minutes it was ready so I thought great! Wrong.... my sushi roll was probably room temp but close to luke warm and my spring rolls had yellowish with some green shredded lettuce, the wraps were so sticky that when I pulled one out they were all stuck together and it ripped apart, I took a bite the lettuce tasted like dirt or like it hadn't been washed the rice noodles tasted very mushy and they were so sticky they were sticking to my fingers and just falling apart. I've ordered spring rolls from all kinds of restaurants and these were not good at all and I've never had any pull apart like this. I wouldn't waste my money and will not go back.
Absolutely fantastic sweet and sour sauce. It's exactly what it should taste like. Lunch price for the amount of food you get is a great deal..Food: 5/5
Sushi was excellent & prices are reasonable. Thursday nights they have a great blues band 6-9. It was a fun night and they close at 9.
After hearing about it from so many people, I had high expectation of this place. Unfortunately, it was not as good as I anticipated. The food was not as flavorful, and there was not much food per plate. Staffs members will come by your table with a platter of food, and you have the ability to select which on the platter you would like. Different staff members will have different food on their platter, and they will be rotating around different tables. After making the selection, they will stamp your ticket, so you can be charge for your item at the cashier. It was easy to rack the bill up, because the plate was small. We made the mistake of not getting a menu beforehand, so we did not see how much we were racking up. By the end, the two of us spent about $53 for the entire meal, not including the tips. Overall, it was an interesting experience, and I am glad I tried it. However, I would be hesitant to come back in the future, since it was pretty expensive.
Update Dec 2021: Second visit was not as charming as the last. Jasmin tea was replaced with weak tea bags. It took an hour to receive our meal...and most everything was cold. Guests, with more than our 4 man group, were seated after us. Received ther food and were packing leftovers before our meal vfx was brought out. Had to track down host to get our food. Not as nice experience, food not as good, won't go back. It was a charming Asian restuarant.
Mom n I tried this place out. Use to b a family favorite back n the day before renovations n the 2000's. Still very good food. Definitely will b back again to try other selections now that we've returned
Their dimsum is awesome. We came here only Saturday or Sunday to eat dimsum. The price is okay and make sense.
