The regular exhibits were really interesting, especially the exhibit on west Michigan migration. We came for the special unicorns, mermaids, and dragons exhibit, which was really fascinating. It touched on cultural similarities of myths; I wish it had a little more detail, though.
This is a great museum for kids, and has a lot to keep adults engaged, too. I would definitely come back for other special exhibits.
There are wheelchairs available to borrow and excellent accessibility throughout.

Wonderful museum with a wealth of collections displayed in a colorful, interesting, and accessible way. Nothing "stuffy" about it! Cafe on second floor has light food and beverages. The Cook Carousel is beautiful, as is the view of the Grand River through 3-story windows. Highly recommend this for people of all ages.

A great museum that has an amazing a-z learning experience. As you walk through the museum you can find the letters which have a whole section dedicated to that letter. They also had an amazing traveling exhibit that was about different mythological creatures and stories. It was an amazing experience that was super informative. I definitely recommend this museum to everyone it is great for all ages and will amaze the mind and give you new topics to discuss with others and research later on. My only wish is that they would have a bigger Egyptian exhibit. Definitely all around an amazing museum and can not wait to go back an explore more and see the next traveling exhibit. I am definitely glad we made the many hour trip to see this amazing museum it truly is a 5 out of 5 start museum.

Really neat museum with a friendly staff. It is right next to a parking ramp, so parking is convenient and isn't too expensive. ($5 or so). I have been here twice and loved it both times. You MUST check out the space observatory events they have there!! It's seriously really awesome and educational as well. Suitable for adults (I'm 26 and LOVE it) and children, I'd say 5 and up. The host for it is really good at it, and you can tell he loves his job and knows his stuff. His effort makes these experiences all the more fulfilling.

This was a fun little museum to explore. I thought we'd need way more time to go through the special exhibit and the rest of the museum but less than two hours later and we were done. I'm not sure we'd need to go back, but it was a nice place and it was clean and well signed.
[I was a little disappointed in the size of the special exhibit (Mythical Creatures) as I'd seen it when it first was cultivated, in Chicago. My intention is not to sound judgemental but I'm comparing as I was excited to share with my family. It took 2-3 hours to go through the original exhibit - we got through this one in about 30 minutes, with reading the documentation. I wish there was more space dedicated to the special exhibit, if that were the issue. That being said, I understand how difficult setting up a exhibit is and appreciate the effort that went in - what was there was very cool!
