Great little independent pie shop and cafe. We tried the lemon meringue, blueberry cheese pie and NY cheesecake. Everything was great especially the lemon meringue which was perfectly tart and not overly sweet. They also have a breakfast menu, savory pot pies, sandwiches, cookies, pastries, ice cream and good coffee. This is a hidden gem in Lakewood and apparently has been around for 30 years.
I raved about your pie shop until last week. I drove there from Westminster just to buy a slice of lemon meringue pie for myself and a friend. First, the young man at the counter said you were out. Then a young woman double checked the fridge and found half a pie left. She cut a piece and put it in a bag while I looked at buying a slice of chocolate mousse pie you had. I was heartbroken when I got home and looked at these pieces of pie. So pathetic and not appealing. I’ve purchased a slice before and the lemon meringue was beautiful! Featured the stiff high beauty of the merengue. This did not. I had egg on my face when my guest looked at your slices of pie. Sigh
I come here all the time to get pies! Today I had time for lunch… what a treat! I got a pastrami sandwich, broccoli cheddar soup, and a pie of blackberry pie to go. The sandwich and soup were amazing! The customer service here is always great and I LOVE seeing all the young hardworking people inside! Lunch was great! I’ll be back!
This was my first time here. We ordered 2 whole no sugar added apple and blueberry pies, both double crusted. We ate them way too fast. They were fantastic.
Love the food, music and the employees are always friendly and helpful. I usually go at least once a week. Pies, pot pie, breakfast sandwiches, sandwiches, quiche, soup, chips, pastries, coffee, ice cream, specialty coffees and teas.
I did give Granny another shot - and very glad I did. My last experience must have been an off day. This go around the empanada was flaky and crisp and perfectly cooked. The mixed berry pie was phenomenal. moist, flaky and left me wanting to take the whole pie home! My first experience here was not quite what I hoped. Staff was friendly and the restaurant clean. I ordered the empanada meal, with a slice of triple berry pie. The empanada was dry and slightly overcooked. It really needed a good deal more salsa than one small container. The filling was good, but too much crust to filling. If it were less done, that might not have been an issue. It wasn't so bad to send it back, but was enough to think twice before ordering again. Likewise the pie needed moisture. Still, I would try this place again. Many of the pies looked fabulous.
Where has this been all my life. No that would mean I'd weigh a ton. Delicious out of your grans kitchen pies. We've now tried about a half dozen types and they all have been outstanding. I also made the "mistake" of getting an oatmeal cookie one day as a quick snack and now I crave them. Friendly staff and cute space to eat, if you just can't wait to dig in.
Fantastic pies! You may want to avoid if you want to be able to eat cheap pie from the grocery store. You'll never be able eat that junk again. Quality ingredients, great flavors, flaky crust. No soggy bottoms.
Love Granny Scott’s Pie Shop! Every pie is made from scratch in store with very fresh ingredients. They offer a lot of different pies which you can purchase by the slice or as the whole pie. Granny Scott’s also offers a delicious lunch menu. My favorite items are the homemade quiche and a slice of georgia peach pie!
Poor customer service. When I was at the counter I asked for a pecan gooey bun. The cashier left and started helping an employee in back room......ok ?.....that was weird. When she came back to the counter she started helping another customer. I said to her can she finish with me first. I then ordered a whole strawberry rhubarb pie. The price of a whole strawberry rhubarb pie the owner has on his website is $22.99. When you go into the pie shop they charged me $27.99. I said to the cashier she over charged me and that the website says different. She then said the owner hasn't updated the website. I said to her that's not the customer fault and that she make it right. She didn't. The customer service these young employees have is terrible. These young people have no clue how their paychecks are generated. From the customer Don't go to this pie shop you will get ripped off price wise with the compliments of an attitude from the employee.
