Absolutely loved visiting. Even though we went in early May with snow on the ground we were able to enjoy a great tour of the cave and a short trail hike. The rangers were super nice, the park is beautiful and we will definitely be back in the summer. It’s definitely a long desolate drive to get there, but totally worth it.

This is the best national park... but don’t tell anyone about it! It gets busy, but it’s quiet and not crowded. The caves are neat and full of history. Oh! talk about history! Trees that are thousands of years old?! Definitely check out the interpretive trail where some trees have been labeled with dates. It’s crazy!

I love the Great Basin with its endless mountain ridges and sagebrush lined valleys. The National Park showcases the very best of it. Wheeler Peak tops 13000 feet. Ancient bristlecone pines live in its upper reaches. Evergreens and aspens reign over the desert below. And there is a fantastic cavern for underground enjoyment.

Lehman Caves was quite spetacular with many formations, stalactites, stalagmites, shields, columns and wings. The campgrounds we're small and filled up in the evenings (mid May). High elevations were still closed due to snow but provided beautiful scenery.

So much in such a small area. I like that we were very close to the examples of cavern life. It reminded me of Mitchell Caverns in Mojave Nat Monument that have recently been reopened. We enjoyed our tour and our guide was well educated on caverns.
