Greatland Adventures

My kiddo and I had a blast at the Matanuska Glacier in February with Bill and Greatland. Booking was easy, staff was helpful and responsive, Bill communicated and picked us up on time and, along the drive, shared some fun info about the area. At the glacier, he was knowledgeable, answering questions and had a genuine interest in making sure everyone had a great experience. As a side note, I liked the early departure we beat the other tours so we had a nice, quiet experience and nice light and the smaller tour. As we were leaving, we saw two large groups with another tour and I really appreciated the smaller tour we were on; it afforded us a more personal adventure. We definitely plan to trek back to Alaska again and, when we do, we'll go out on another tour with Greatland for sure!

We spent 4 amazing days with Bill from Greatland. From Anchorage to Fairbanks— we hiked the Glacier..took a Talkeetna Air tour went Snowshoeing in Denali and mingled with the Sled Dogs and Reindeer… Bill made the adventure fun, educational and a wonderful family experience. Thank YOU!

There are not enough words to explain how incredible the northern lights tour is. Steve was the absolute best guide with TONS of knowledge. We trusted him and he lead us to the PERFECT spot to see a spectacular show. We took the private tour with our two boys who are 6 and 9. They slept in the van while we chased aurora and we woke them up when lady A was showing off! Do not hesitate to book this tour! Thank you Steve for the unforgettable experience. Another check on my bucket list thanks to Greatland Adventures!

I don’t usually leave reviews either but the folks at Greatland Adventures deserve it! It’s been almost a week since we were in Fairbanks to see the Aurora Borealis and I still can’t get over it - it was such an amazing experience! Everyone we dealt with - from making the reservation to our forecast call to our actual tour - was awesome. Our guide, Mike, was so easy to talk to - it was like we had known him forever - and we instantly felt comfortable around him. There’s a whole science behind the lights and Mike was very knowledgable and took the time to explain and share info. You could tell how passionate he was about his job. His excitement added to our excitement = pure amazingness! Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience

This was a fantastic tour! I was crossing my fingers all week that an Aurora show would occur and Greatland made sure that when it did I was able to see it. The van was stocked with warm snacks and drinks, it was comfortable for the long ride and the pick up was easy. Gabe was a fantastic guide. I will be sure to use Greatland next time I’m in Alaska and recommend it to anyone traveling by here!

I’m so glad we booked tours with Greatland for our Winter vacation! They were very communicative in planning and the guides were excellent. We went with Mike on the Northern Lights tour and Bill on the Matanuska Glacier tour. Both were unforgettable experiences not in small part due to their help!

I'm from California and have been to Alaska 5 times and had experienced many excursions and tours. The hike on Matanuska Glacier is my favorite of all. The drive from Anchorage was scenic, the lunch was delicious. This tour would not have been so fantastic without our tour guide "Sean"!
