Greenwood Ashworth Park

Nice to have such a large green space near home on the west side of Des Moines. Besides the rose garden in season, and the wildlife pond with observation walks and platforms, the gentle trails make it a pleasant stroll with two- or four-legged family members. And it's the gateway to some excellent bike trails.

I enjoy going to greenwood Park in the late afternoons and early evenings. I enjoy taking a book and reading and occasionally watch people as they come and go and enjoy the park also. sorry no photos to add.

Lots of these flowering trees!! If you don't have allergies this is a nice quiet place to "reset" and just relax. Bring a fishing pole, sketch book, and/or kids.

Peaceful & Beautiful with multiple walking & riding trails

Nice rustic walk through the wood on a worn dirt trail. It will be muddy if it's rained, but nice weather brings a lot of cyclist from the neighborhood.

Gorgeous even in early spring!

Beautiful city park. Art Center with outdoor public art at the entrance, trails, splashpad for kids that looks like Stonehenge, tennis courts, indoor and outdoor shelters and swimming pool.
