Grega Painting

This week Grega Painting & Decorating finished painting the exterior of our house, and we couldn’t be more pleased. Between Tim’s management of the crew and Tom’s carpentry work, it was clear that they appreciated the age of the house and it showed at the end of the job. This is a company that has integrity and a work ethic that showed a real sense of responsibility and professionalism. The schedule laid out prior to the start of the job was hindered only by rain. The crew worked full days, sometimes with four guys working, sometimes two and on a couple of occasions one who chose to stay longer than usual. All tools were put away and the area cleaned before they left for the day. Everyone who worked on the house was conscious of the plantings around the property and went to great lengths to protect them as best they could. We absolutely chose the best contractor for our job.

I used Grega Painting in the past with great results. BUT... we hired Tim and his crew to come and paint the exterior of our house this summer. And it was a huge disappointment. The sanding was uneven. The paint was sloppy and uneven. They dripped paint ALL over our stonework on our porch and the paint won't come off. They also damaged our new Azek stairs in the back of our house with paint. They tried to fix it too... but it's still horrible looking. They painted all the windows that needed painting shut. They did fix that, but why would professional painters make that silly mistake? They overpainted our glazed windows so they look cruddy and lumpy did not look like that before. And they put back the shutters on the house incorrectly hanging at the very top of the window, not from hung from the bottom frame. So now I'm hiring a handyman for $$$ to fix it. But I can't fix the damage the dripped paint caused. And all it would have taken is a simple drop cloth. Why they didn't use them to over parts of our exterior to protect our porch and stairs, I have no idea. But it's ruined. PLUS.... I thought I was getting a professional top-notch job. So I paid for that. Which was much more $$$ than other painters quoted me. But I sure didn't get the quality job I thought I was going to get. I will not hire them again. Tim is a nice guy and very good at communicating, but I'm looking for a good job too. Very disappointed, especially as I saw him as my "go to" painter because of his excellent work in the past. We have used Tim a few times for exterior work. He is honest and stands behind his work. He is also very easy to work with. I would recommend him highly.
