I drove to Omaha from southern MN to pick out a new trap gun at Guns Unlimited. I chose to make the trek after reading several positive reviews on their customer service, expertise, and in-stock selection. The experience I had lived up to every expectation. Dennis and Tom listened to and understood my intent for the gun, and patiently guided me through the selection process. Dennis and Tom were transparent and honest, Tom even talked me out of an option that I thought I needed. I highly recommend Guns Unlimited and will be returning in the future.
Bought my very first rifle here in 2016. Place used to be great! Don’t know what has happened since then but I can’t get decent help here to save my life. All the employees here except the person at the counter were rude as can be. Really wanted to support local stores but it’s hard to do so when your employees are extremely obtuse from the get go
Gave it 2 stars, only because of the first experience we had in the store. We walked in with the intention of looking to see what kind of wheel guns they had, of which they had plenty. I was looking for a Taurus 605 in .357, which they did not have. First guy I spoke with was extremely pleasant, very helpful. We walked around a bit more and I bought a box of 9mm ammo, and was looking at a small .22 when another guy walked up and asked if we needed help. THIS guy was very condescending and abrupt, as if we were bothering him or loitering. First guy I spoke with short guy with glasses was very nice, we even shot the breeze a bit about pistols, he mentioned some other stores that may carry some things I was looking for, and we even joked a little about the handgrips for some pistols. Second guy taller guy with a beard was just not very nice. He asked me WHY I needed a specific firearm, mentioned a range in Lousiville, and seemed perturbed that we were even in the store. Second time this year I went into this store to give them a chance. I bought my first pistol from here years ago. Won't be back.
I purchased shotshells and 17 hmr. The young lady at the counter was very helpful and knowledgeable of the difference calibers of ammo. This is a well stocked store with friendly employees.
GU emailed me a quote for a shotgun I was interested in, then when I called, denied giving me that price. I emailed them their response and was willing to meet them half way which they also declined. If they don't have the integrity to stand by what they say in writing, how could you ever have confidence in them for gun advise or service?
Called about an extra barrel for my citori 725 that I had just purchased and a couple other questions I had. First guy I talked to informed me that browning doesn’t allow the sale of extra barrels and almost right away hung up on me. I called back and another gentleman answered who answered the rest of my questions and apologized for the first employees rudeness. I have dealt with guns unlimited before and had terrible experiences with their staff. Decided to give them another chance and it wasn’t worth it.
Nice store with large selection. Staff could be friendlier, but maybe it was just the cold weather making everyone crabby that day! Like other gun and ammo retailers, "back order" was common and problematic.
This time in I had no trouble with anyone. The store is well stocked and ammunition is fairly well priced. Not as good as before the ammo shortage but there's plenty to be had of most calibers and ricing is fairly competitive. I don't see any of the employees who in the past were rude and arrogant so they are getting close to getting my business back. 11 21 22 update. Store is filled with products and ammo some of which is a bit high thanks to inflation. Staff are attentive and helpful. They are much better then years ago when I quit going there.
I spoke with an associate at Guns Unlimited and she was super kind and willing to listen. We are happy to be your new neighbors!
Bought my very 1st handgun here and couldn't be happier. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. This being my first handgun purchase they patiently walked me through the process of the sale and how to go about registering the firearm with O.P.D before they could release my purchase. 10/10, will be returning, deserves a "Best of Omaha" award, very fair prices, nothing but good stuff from these guys!
