Upscale spot for sushi. I enjoyed the tuna lover entree with an appetizer gyoza. It came with soup and a small salad. The food was delicious and what you'd expect at a good sushi restaurant. Service was great, water glass kept full without asking. Dining room was a little chilly, but lots of regulars seemed to stop in as staff knew everyone.
Best sushi by far. Ever since moving from California 2 years ago, I have had a hard time finding a delicious sushi spot that can make me feel like home again in Minnesota or even make me forget my fav sushi spots in CA. My husband took us here for my birthday and we are definitely planning to make future visits.
I enjoyed the food flavor and the plating was cute! The sushi was a little dry and most of the options had tuna in them which I’m not a fan of. I saw someone order a roll not on the menu called the Kyoto roll and that’s what I asked for, should definitely be!
Always enjoy coming here for Sushi, my current favorite in the area. Asian Tiger Roll with at bottom, salmon family roll at top, spicy tuna and avacado top left. Second photo is Asian tiger roll with Mango tuna roll.Dine in: YesTakeout: YesCurbside pickup: Yes
Their sushi was pretty good! Will be back to try other rolls there. I got the mango tuna roll and spicy salmon hand roll.Food: 4/5
I always enjoy going here and want them to do well and stay in Mendota Heights. Been coming for years, but most recently when i visited, the octopus was a little watery and squishy. Unfortunate because the spicy tuna and other nagiri were great. My kids like the Japanese sodas they sell and they have other non sushi items like chicken fried rice. Edit: May 2022, the quality of the rolls preparation needs work. Rice spilling out and rolls falling apart. See photo Feb 1023: portions are still too small for nagiri
LOVE this place!! amazing food, edible shrimp tails The water tastes great too! I usually come here at night on Mondays and it's never too busy. Beautiful Sushi place. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Kid-friendliness: There's a kids menu Parking: About 30 spots
Hands down best sushi in Minnesota. We have a lot of good sushi spots in San Diego but here the sushi spots are so mediocre. So happy I found Haiku my husband and I order take out very often! Probably eating here tonight actually lol
I'm not a sushi person but my husband is. He said this is the best sushi place yet in the Twin Cities. We found this sushi spot by "accident" as we are tired of eating AYCE sushi. I'm glad we found this gem sooner than later. The rolls are affordable and tasty. Like one post has mentioned, there isn't a lot of rice in the rolls so you can definitely taste the main ingredients of the roll. I personally love how the roll just melts in my mouth. The sushi rolls are so good that my husband could not stop asking me to go visit again. We had a second visit recently and he cannot wait for another visit. Haiku JB has earned themselves a returning customer - my husband. It's worth that 19-mile drive, each way. We cannot wait to come back and try other rolls!
We ordered take out: eel sushi, salmon belly sashimireally fresh, but we used microwave at home and unintentional fully cooked them, eel avocado roll, black dragon roll chef’s special and royan pink rollchef’s special. All sushi rolls contains fully cooked ingredients and they all taste fantastic! We came around 4PM and only waited less than 15 minutes after we ordered in the restaurant. Will go here again.
