Great server, lots of open tables. Hostess not the mostest. Don't understand why the sushi rolls here have so limited flavor. Ok value, ok taste, ok spot. Great location here at U of Mn before the ballet class at the Northrup.
Visited here with my son who attends the U of M and is a huge fan of this place! Very close to campus. I honestly never thought I would be a fan of sushi, but this is absolutely delicious. Nice variety of options. Service was great. Highly recommend!
As a sushi guru I have been looking for my new go to place in Minneapolis. So far, this place is in the lead! If you are a fan of sashimi they have some of the freshest I have tasted in Minnesota I used to live near a fish market in Japan. The specialty rolls are all great. My favorite one so far is the Salmon Family roll. The cooked food is also pretty good and if you are interested in trying squid that is prepared pretty well, try the squid ginger yaki. I was very disappointed with the beef tataki given the price. They have Toro fatty tuna here as well which was pretty average compared with other sushi restaurants in the U.S. I am a huge fan of ordering take away from here. Trying to find parking near this place is a nightmare. You'll probably end up paying to park in a ramp. The waitstaff are in a very big hurry to get you in and out of the restaurant even if it is not busy. Although she was very nice, I had to explicitly tell my waitress that we planned to stay awhile and the place was not busy If I am dropping over $100 on a meal it is not unreasonable to want to sit and enjoy it over an hour. In short: great food, highly recommend as take away or ordering through Bite Squad. I'm not sure going there in person is worth the bother.
Really nice restaurant. Great sushi. Huge seaweed salad. Great miso soup. The guy near me had pork ramen soup and it looked amazing!
I ordered a special Ramen and it is extremely difficult to eat. The actual noodles seem doughy, the meat doesn't smell very fresh and it is probably the least flavourful ramen I have had. I asked if it was fresh and the waiter said everything was fresh and I didn't have to worry. I haven't had any of their other items and maybe this was bad luck but I don't see myself coming back here again.
Good sushi, good prices, ive never had to wait long, i brought my parents who dont like sushi and they were able to find other things they liked.. one time they had "my 600 pound life" on the tv and they were removing fat deposits in that episode so uh that was odd
Had the ramen. Loved the ramen. Service was prompt and courteous. Lighting is soft, ambient sound, reasonable prices.
By no means am I a sushi connoisseur, l have to a few times a year, maybe a little more. I can't really compare it to sushi in NYC or LA. I like this place, perfect for the college student and visiting family members. Prices are very fair. Service is not overbearing. Only problem is that the tables are indeed sticky.
The food I got from my order was EXTREMELY underwhelming. The shrimp in my hibachi dinner was heavily overcooked, the fried rice seemed cheap, the clear mushroom soup barely had any flavor, the California roll was bland.... The only thing that was decent was the filet in the dinner, but even that was more medium well then medium rare like I ordered. It was no where near worth the ~$30 I spent. There's far better Japanese places in the twin cities then this. I do not recommend wasting your money here.
Was greeted by a pleasant waitress and was seated at a booth by the front windows. As I sat down, you could see some type of tape used on both cushions since they were obviously ripped. The table was clean BUT it was so sticky I could not put my hands on the table. We ordered our rolls and they were below average. They appeared to be rolled with regular rice and not sushi rice. We had an OK experience but will not go back.
