Hair Co

My experience at Hair Co was pretty pleasant, at least right up until the end of it. The barber knew exactly how I wanted my hair to be styled, which she did well. I even got some compliments on my looks, which was flattering. However, I was very surprised to find that my haircut would cost me $100. Not $20, Not $50, but $100. Granted, I should've looked at the prices on their website before considering spending money there, but $100 just to have the sides and back of my hair faded? Huh? There are plenty of other barber shops nearby I could've gone to that would've charged less for what I wanted. Luckily I was able to pay for it with $80 because my debit kept getting declined at the ATM, but I still somewhat feel like I got ripped off. It's probably going to be a long while before I visit that place again.Service: Haircut

Jody has been cutting my hair for about 10 years and it always looks great! She cut my hair into a pixie a few years back and I wouldn't have trusted anyone else, and now she has helped me grow it back out. She listens and really knows her stuff!

Jodi and Michelle are masters at their craft. They have been taking care of me for over a decade and are not only true professionals, but fun and wonderful to spend time with. Anyone can cut your hair, these women style. 2/26/20 Another amazing haircut from Jodi. Is there anything this woman CAN'T do? Just go. You will feel like a million bucks for spending a very reasonable sum.

I had an awful experience here a couple of weeks ago. The haircut was fine, but the hairdresser was extremely inappropriate. Just for the record: it’s not okay to ask an Indian person if they’re “from a slum or a more affluent part” of India. It’s not okay to tell them that you think their food makes you “stinky”, or that you can “smell the coconut oil” in their hair. It wasn’t even coconut oil, but of course she assumed it was. 10/10 would not recommend, you shouldn’t have to put up with racial microaggressions when you’re trying to get your hair done.Service: Hairstyling

When I visit Hair Co I walk out feeling beautiful every time. Jody has been doing my hair for a long time and she's an artist; really listens, I trust her ideas and instincts, and provides great service. Recommend to anyone.

Jodi and Michelle are amazing. I get so many random compliments on my hair. I moved to JP but I keep coming back to Sommerville to get my hair cut!

The stylist listened and cut my hair the way I asked, my hair looks great!! Also my eyebrows have never looked better. Finally a place to get exactly what I want.
