Dr. Melhorn was so amazing to work with! My 3-year-old had trigger thumb and had to have a minor operation done and he and his staff were wonderful with us and made everything go smoothly! My kids enjoyed going to see him at appointments also, and he was always so kind to them and to us. We are so appreciative of everything he did and highly recommend him!
I never had a bad experience at the hand center, Dr Melhorn and his staff always treat me with such care and respect, I'm truly blessed to have an excellent surgeon for last 16yrs.
Dr. Melhorn was very attentive during my appointments. He listened to my issues and genuinely took them into consideration with his treatment.
Dr Melhorn treated my 7yr old daughter after she injured two of her fingers playing with dumbbells. He was great with her at every appointment. He explained things very well and are we always got in and out of our appointments rather quickly!
Dr. Melhorn is one of the best Orthopedic Surgeon at "the hand center" in Wichita, Kansas. He is very professional and takes good care of his patients. In fact, he has a very good team and all his staff are caring. I had my left index finger almost chopped off and was worried that I will lose that part of the finger. He did a fantastic job and clearly explained the recovery process. He also gave me the courage to handle my pain and provided me with sufficient information like, why the wound has to be kept open, and, why I need to do continuous exercise/massage immediately after the surgery to avoid all functionality of my fingers/nerves. Truly he is the best and would highly recommend his hand center. I wish him good health and long service to the community.
Bedside manner is 10/10. Efficient and extremely knowledgeable. His office is evident of his care and compassion. Diverse team.
I came to Dr Melhorn for a problem with my hand involving my thumb not working properly at all. Dr Melhorn got me in quick and did an amazing job!! After only a few months my thumb is working great and I’m back to everyday life.
Dr. Melhorn performed immediate surgery on my hand while I was in the icu. Since the surgery the recovery has been awesome, and having Dr. Melhorn as my doctor who actually cares for his patients well being felt great. Thank you, Dr. Melhorn!
I was less than impressed. I waited at least 45 minutes to be taken to a room, have my info taken by the MA, and Dr. Melhorn came in for about 30 seconds to ask what was wrong, and recommended hand X-rays. We did 3 on each hand, then Dr. Melhorn came back in, spending less than 2 minutes in the room. He told me he saw nerve impingement from the nerve sheaths on the X-ray which was causing my carpal tunnel pain. That’s absolutely impossible. I understand he knows hands well, and his diagnostic skills have probably been well-honed over the years and I even said I suspected bilateral carpal tunnel but why lie to a patient like that? He also told me my options are injections or surgery, but definitely seemed to be making a push towards surgery. I won’t be coming back, and will be going elsewhere for further care.
Everyone in the office is very friendly. Got in quickly and answers. Wish I would have found them sooner!
