Hansen Refrigeration Service

The ice in my freezer started melting, and the manufacturer couldn't get anyone out for another 4 days. I called Hansen Refrigeration and Jen was able to send someone on the same day. She was very kind and gave me a heads up so I knew someone was on the way. John, the tech was punctual and friendly. He diagnosed the problem as a bad compressor. John came back and installed the new compressor and had to reprogram the computer/board that runs it--something that is unique to this brand of refrigerator. After over an hour trying, he determined that he needed a different device to re-program it I think. He ended up coming back and taking the computer/board home so he could work on it over the weekend. Unfortunately, he spent about 8 hours on it and finally was told by the manufacturer that it couldn't be reprogrammed. While it sucks that I have to get a new refrigerator, I'm grateful to John for how hard he worked to get my existing fridge up and running and to Jen for explaining to me why they weren't able to fix it. I was only charged for a service call--none of the time and labor spent or for the part. These days, it's rare to find a company run by such kind, hard-working people. Hansen Refrigeration definitely lost money on this and for that I feel terrible. However, I will be calling them if I ever have another appliance issue in the future!
