I absolutely loved my trip to the Harper's ferry national Park. I was 10 feet away from a deer. There was serious rain before I went so being able to see the flooding was rather impressive. I love you can bring your dog. I absolutely love our history and being able to see a part of the past was privilege. I will remember this trip forever.

I have been here 3 times and I still haven't experienced everything it has to offer. This place is amazing. Jam packed with historical information and preserved artifacts from the day of John Brown. Plenty of hiking and sigh seeing. You can be in west Virginia and Maryland at the same time. Walk the old train bridge and, if you're lucky, catch the train coming out of the tunnel in the mountain. Cute little shops and eateries nestled amongst restored buildings. It really is a must see.

What a wonderful place Harpers Ferry is. Between the quaint streets, the hills and the scenery it's a wonderful place to visit. We took a chance and drove up the mountain to see the St Peter's Church when my brother was married years ago. From behind the old Hilltop Hotel in a little garden, you can see where the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers meet. In town there are plenty of little stores, restaurants and ice cream places to stop and visit and there's an active Railroad Station to stop by as well. If you have the energy you can walk across the old railroad bridge that goes across the Potomac. Maybe next time!

The story of John Brown (the abolitionist) happened right here...tons of history! There's so many stories of Union troops and Confederate troops occupation as well. Tons of information available in the area to see and read. We had a great time! It's a wonderful, beautiful, quaint little town that is definitely worth visiting!

Lot of neat history. Buildings with excavations, replicas, and so much information. Want to know the difference in nails over several centuries, there's a sign for that. There's an old train bridge you can walk to the Maryland side on. St Peter's catholic church has an amazing view and volunteers there can answer any question just about. Plenty of food and shops to hit up, and everyone was very friendly.
