Hartshorn Portraiture

We had a great experience with Hartshorn. They take on a different style to photography. Everything is done in house from photos down to printing and framing. It’s more art than just a photo print. We did a family newborn shoot in the studio, which is beautiful. Mac was very patient , and he made it fun for us. The pictures came out unreal. Like I said, more art than a photo print. Jennifer helped us pick the right print and frame and had it delivered right to our home. Thank you Hartshorn!

We have been going to Hartshorn Portraiture for over 15 years. It has been so wonderful to have Mac and Jennifer document our kids growing up in such a beautiful way with their amazing pictures. They really are works of art and Mac is so fantastically talented. Words can’t describe how glad we are to have made the investment in these wonderful pictures all of these years. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience working with Hartshorn Portraiture. Mac put us at ease and made taking the photos so much fun. He even walked back to our apartment with us to make sure our dog was in a few photos with us. Meeting with Jennifer and reviewing the photos together was wonderful. Her expertise helped us pick the perfect photos and frames for our home. We are so excited to get the final framed versions and will absolutely work with them in the future for any other photos we need.

I came across Hartshorn Portraiture at a baby expo and then again at a prenatal support group meeting. I saw some of their work and really liked the maternity and newborn pics - simple, classic and beautiful. So I decided to book a maternity session. They were really flexible with scheduling, as I needed to move up my photo shoot appointment for medical reasons. They were able to do the shoot earlier which I was really grateful for. Mac was really fun to work with. He made us feel very comfortable right away. We returned a few days later to make our photo selections with Jennifer and were really happy with what we saw. It was so hard to choose as we liked all of them!! I would definitely recommend Hartshorn to all of my friends and family.

Hartshorn Portraiture exceeded my expectations when it came to my pictures. To start, I was looking for something relatively quick and they were very responsive and able to fit us in on a Saturday. They were extremely accommodating in my request for wanting to shoot at 2 different locations in Hoboken not close to each other. Mac is great with kids and got some phenomenal images of my 3yr old son. Lastly, Hartshorn likes to make your picture review an experience. You go to their studio, have a glass of wine, dim the lights and pic your best images. It was a wonderful experience!

Personally, I feel that the best part of their business is the scope of services they provide - they help you with your family photography projects from start to finish; Jennifer helps you choose your photos, frames and sizes. She will even hang your photos in your home with attention to detail on what style/placement looks best. Because of this, you can be sure to have gorgeous photos actually on display in your home as opposed to having digital files sitting on your computer. I was so pleased with the service we received. Mac was amazing and so patient with my kids. He took amazing photos that we will cherish for years to come. Jennifer took those photos and made them into works of art, helping us choose sizes and frames. They look amazing in our home and we have received many compliments. I would recommend everyone to use them for their family portraits.

Our experience with Hartshorn has been wonderful. My husband and I had a maternity Shoot with Mac and then a couple weeks later, we had a newborn shoot with our new baby girl. I am shy when it comes to having my picture taken, but Mac made the process easy going and fun. We worked with both Mac and Milena "the baby whisper" for the newborn shoot and got some beautiful photos. They were extremely patient with our fussy baby and made sure we were able to get the cute, sleepy baby poses we were looking for. Jennifer did the digital photo review sessions with us and helped us make print and album purchasing decisions. I was a little disappointed that while there were some great shots of my husband and the baby, I didn't make it into any. Jennifer suggested that the baby and I come back for a mini shoot the next day- which was amazing customer service and instantly lifted my spirits. This is an expensive investment, but they are committed to making sure you are a happy customer with more than just family photos. You leave with art.
