Harvard Square Eye Care

Appointment was very thorough. The doctor was very understanding of the discomfort and issues I was facing with my sight, and was very clear in explaining possible root causes for them. i have been a patient at the Harvard square practice for about a year now, if not for my insurance limitations, I would be getting my eyes checked regularly at this practice. Highly recommend.

I have been going here for quite a few years. They are very friendly and professional and my prescription is excellent. I went to the Harvard Square office for my checkup and they have a great selection of frames but I went to the Belmont St location the next day to see more frames. Service there was also excellent and I had my glasses in a week.

Horrible customer service! I have been going to Harvard Square Eye Care for several years and had been pleased with the service I received. Every year there seems to be a new optometrist though which impacts continuity of care. My last visit was horrible. The man at the front desk did not acknowledge me for several minutes and when he finally did, he was rude. Also, the optometrist had a hard time articulating her thoughts and explaining her evaluation to me. This did not leave me confident in her exam and recommendations. I needed to return because the trial contact lenses were not sufficient. I was told I needed a new appointment to get a new set of trial lenses because I was going from multifocal to single focus; even though I have had single focus prescribed by them in the past. I don't understand the reasoning and it was not fully explained to me but what was I to do? The day of the new appointment happened to be on one of Harvard's move-in day. Between moving trucks, people and construction there were multiple road closures and significantly reduced parking. I called ahead to explain and to say I was running late. I arrived 13 min. late and was told they had a 10 min policy and I would need to reschedule. I understand I was late but the staff made no attempt at accommodating given the situation. When I received my previous lenses it took about 3 min to pop them in and have the doctor take a look. I cannot imagine this taking any longer than that. I feel that the staff were unreasonable and rude. Things have changed at HSEC at least at the HS office and not for the good. I will not be returning.

I have never been to a place with kinder and more courteous staff. Everyone from the folks at the front desk who were endlessly helpful and patient to the optometrist who was simply amazing at his job were exceedingly nice and professional. I truly cannot recommend a placer more highly

Went here on a Saturday afternoon. Despite how busy the office was with people dropping in, the staff was kind and helped explain how my insurance worked. Doctor W was able to answer all of my questions and did a great job.

Bad news. Arrived a few minutes late to pre scheduled appointment, because of Harvard square traffic and zero parking provided or recommended, we we're turned down at the door with no recourse. Awful customer service

Very nice staff. Dr. was very nice and explained everything. A very professional manner. I brought frames. A very nice selection. Very happy with Harvard sqaure eye care.

The staff we're absolutely amazing! They took their time and explained everything they showed so much kindness and caring making sure I was happy with my visit and my glasses. The doctor took her time and was so nice explained everything we were doing step by step. I would highly recommend this office to anyone if you're looking to have your eyes checked or for glasses or lenses!

I have gone to Harvard Square Eyecare for over 20 years, ever since I moved to Cambridge. My best friend recommended it to me. He also goes there. We have both had very good experiences there, and always get our glasses from there. I was moved to write this review because I have had an incredibly good experience working with Bobby Marchant, the optician. I have just had cataract surgery. My prescription is completely new now and I called to get help with finding the best glasses possible I can find. This was very important to me, because before I had surgery my eyesight was so bad I could barely see. I am now seeing wonderfully well and getting the right eyeglasses will be the last tweak on perfecting my eyesight. I am seeing better now than I've ever seen in my life. Bobby had so much knowledge and was so incredibly kind and patient working with me. He helped me to understand every detail re how to choose the best possible progressive lens for me. And he had a very good aesthetic sense as well when it came to choosing the frames. He spent a great deal of time with me going over all the options for frames and for lenses. I recommend Bobby highly. I really trust his advice and it has meant the world to me. This is a very important step for me to get the correct glasses after so many years of not being able to see very well. I am so grateful to Bobby and want to thank him very much for the time and care he spent with me.
