Excellent addition to downtown area in refurbished former motel. Headed to a show at Smith Center. Service was friendly, accomodating, knowledgeable and had passion for their product and surroundings...all the things you want in your staff. However, could tell many staff members were just "green" enough to miss some basic service steps...but not drastic enough to hamper the experience. Food was well prepared and presented....quick too. Fried quail was our favorite. They have unique items too like chicken hearts and lamb leg off the robata. Cocktail were tasty and well thought out. Sake list was a good size, but ironically not a lot of valued options despite the vast diversity. Will be back. Keep up the good work.
We wanted to try something new, the food is amazing it is prepared fresh, it's fast but for me it's just not enough. All items or just about all items are on skewers great for sharing by the time we left we were still hungry I didn't want to spend another $70 on Stick food although delicious that's why I give it five stars check out the photos
Seriously from start to finish everything was amazing. Service was great with our server Juan. Everything was so flavorful. We did order the whole menu basically so next time we know we can cut back a little. Definitely can't wait to come back.
Good, but far from impressive izakaya. Interesting location is the only reason to stop by, as the food won’t blow your mind.
Me and my girlfriend we will call here L came here for a anniversary of sorts. When L showed me the truck model/art that’s out in the front restaurant I was totally hooked to go. We got there and there was going to be a wait for 45 minutes, we waited like 10 minutes so first win. The service was excellent, server was friendly and cool. The food was really good despite its small portions. Would recommend anyone to go here.
Bar tender made us some killer drinks. He was really good on educating us about Japanese whiskey. Food was amazing too
Wow. Highly recommend. Japanese yakitori done well with some traditional Japanese dishes to go along. Huge sake menu. Service was spectacular. We will return in the future.
Guys. Words can't do this place justice, you HAVE to come here and try it yourself! It's right by this really cool statue. Wish I had taken pics of the food because it was beautiful, fresh and delicious. A little pricey but totally worth it!!!
I'd have pictures of the food, but we inhaled it so fast. Everything was so on point. The cocktail to start was great. The sake recommendation was on point. All the small plates were phenomenal. Skip the strip and come here for dinner. We had way more value at this place than any restaurant that pays a celebrity chief for their face on the menu.
Deciding on whether to give four or five stars for Hatsumi is a challenge for me. In many areas areas Hatsumi is a standout and a great part of the local food scene. Upon arrive we were greeted and shortly shown to a table. We arrive a bit earlier than most and the restaurant was mainly empty. Being our first time there, our waiter explained the menu and off we went. We ordered a variety of items to try out along with a few drinks. Everything that came to our table was visually appealing, a little small on the portion size, but and ultimately tasty. The same was true for our drinks as well. Maybe that was the problem. Some of the food was too tasty, and given the size we needed or order a lot to feel like we were well fed. Here is the only area that was not perfect - the final bill. We eat out on a regular basis and are familiar with the costs, however this was on a level that I did not expect. Maybe I could have been better prepared, or counted the little sticks we ordered better, but that is not something that I am accustomed to doing. So in the end, we would love to return, just once my wallet has recovered.
