I finally got to visit this place and I was astounded at the beauty this forest holds. When I heard about this place and how it was the state's only "urban forest" I was filled with doubt about how much of a "forest" it could be. One of the best things I can do while venturing on a hike is get lost, and I got lost a couple times here. There is a lot of land, and with it being urban you can sometimes get close to traffic or even train tracks. Most of the animals were elusive so I didn't really get many wildlife shots but I'm going to be coming back here from time-to-time. My only con for this place is that it closes at 8pm. I changed my rating system to include decimals, so I give this place a 3.8.
I love this park, and even better they trimming bushes so the park look bigger and cleaner. It will reduce mosquitoes. So sad when people don't care about take care the park better, such as pick up their doog poop.
This place is such a marvelous and underrated gem!! Great for hiking, biking or just chilling around in the nature. And also, so close to the city!
Lots of well maintained trails. Some are dog friendly and others aren't. Tends to get busy later in the day on the weekends, usually empty early mornings or weekdays. Dog-friendliness: Many dog friendly trails. Dogs must be kept on leash
I like this park, it's pretty huge and has a couple different scenery walks from all forest walks to open field walks. Lots of nature to see if you like birds.
We had a wonderful time here on the trails. They were beautiful and a great spot for bird watchers. They also take wonderful care of the animals inside.
Super colorful and enjoyable experience. Ready to walk and get lost on the scenery. Would definitely recommend checking this out

Great place to hike and enjoy the nature
Great size for a quick jog through this patch of pretty forest and grassland with trails throughout. I saw a deer leap away through the meadow. Several ponds or catch basins with some instructive signs. Fantastic surprise sunset!
