I moved from NY to Delaware and after 3 years of traveling to NY to get my hair braided, I found a spot that does nice. Ms. Mary braids fast and neat. The only downside is they can't do design styles. Prices are normal and not inflated.
The work was fine, but the cleanliness of the shop is just something that I can’t look past. The towels are dirty, the floors are filthy, and as much as I want to give them 5 stars because they are good at what they do, I have to be honest because the cleanliness is just unacceptable. There’s a big difference between messy and dirty, and this place is BOTH. Please do better because you guys are good at what you do. Also, they only take cash, I had no clue…
I made an 8am appt 4 days ago. They were not there on time but I did not worry because life happens. When the place finally opened I was 1 of 4 people with the same appt time I waited over an hour and still hadn't been serviced. They kept saying my lady was on the way. I am disappointed because I'm understanding but if the lady was not available until after 9am that should have been communicated. Not to mention I had to spend time showing pictures so that they would understand the style I was requesting. Needless to say this place was not and will not be for me. I'm sure others love it here but it was my first and last time.
Now I used to always come there back when I was a child. Today I call in set an appointment for goddess twisties and automatically was told no so then I compromised and decided to do Senegalese twist instead. We agree on a Time for the appointment get there on time as I'm waiting to get seated I hear a young lady next to me say how she initially wanted Senegalese twist but none of the women there wanted to do it. I politely asked the lady if I was still going to be able to get taken care of and get the hairstyle that I had asked for and was told would be able to get senegalese twist done but not only did the lady not answer my question but kept circling around answering my question. I don't understand how anyone can run a business nor make money when none of the employees want to fulfill a customer's request. Ended up leaving and go somewhere else due the fact that I didn't want to waste my time and day sitting there for then none of the women willing to do my hair even though I compromised and went with a more simple hairstyle just for being considerate of the women there and still made no results smh. Normally would recommend coming here but as of recently just been given a lot of the runaround and false promises, highly disappointed
So to be fair, did not end of getting my hair done at this establishment because I went there for a consultation and the place seem very unclean. You have to walk up.a flight of steep stairs where when you reach eye level you can see all the unorganized clutter on the floor. I felt like I was entering my teenage age daughter's unkept room. When I got to the top to breathe some clean air, I noticed every chair was full in a very tight space and no one had a mask on. So I said hello to everyone. Not sure if anyone greeted me back. I spoke to what seem to be the owner that I just called and wanted to get an estimate. She provided a reasonable price, but it was difficult to get the estimate even when I showed her a photo of the style and my hair. The owner seemed annoyed and kept looking at her phone during our conversation. The vibe was not good... I could not see my self sitting in this challenging space for a couple hours. No shop is perfect but cleanliness and good customer service goes a long way....
They overbooked for my appointment and had about 12 people waiting. She had to call people in to do hair because there was no staff available for the appointment time, everyone had to get box braids because no one could do any other style. Four days after I got my hair braided, they began to slide out of my hair.
Overcharges , work is not professionalism , styles are beginners basic styles so upset I went here
I’ve gone to this shop many of times and never been disappointed I will be back tomorrow for my medium box braids again continue being the best & I’ll forever be a lost customer more hair Services: Braids
