A Celebration of All Things Chocolate
Currently, Hawai’i is the only state in the U.S. currently growing cacao. The mission of the Hawai`i Chocolate Festival is to stimulate global interest in Hawai’i’s chocolate industry. The Festival will partner with farmers, local business, educators and government to showcase and highlight chocolate products made exclusively from Hawaiian-grown cacao beans.
The Festival will be a platform to raise awareness of Hawai’i’s emerging cacao industry and to elevate Hawaiian chocolate as the Hawai`i’s new "ambassador of Aloha’” worldwide. Our hope is that the Festival will significantly stimulate demand for Hawaiian chocolate and in response; our local cacao growers will be encouraged to increase supply and stimulate overall industry growth.
In conjunction with the Festival, Special Events Hawaii will organize a month-long series of events entitled Hawai’i Chocolate Festival Roadshow to be held at various locations in celebration of Hawaiian-Grown Cacao Month (October 2015) with the festivities culminating at the Hawai`i Chocolate Festival.
