Heartland of Columbia Rehabilitation & Nursing Center

I had a relative stay there. The biggest problem is that they are understaffed, especially on weekends, so responding to calls by patients is slow. Getting in and out as a visitor is awkward. I would call the place adequate for those needing minimal attention, such as those recuperating from broken legs, but anyone needing a greater degree of care should go elsewhere.

Promedica use to be heartland of Columbia! And let’s just say NOTHING HAS CHANGED! Any good reviews you see I’m convinced they wrote them theirselves. My mom laid in that bed for hours with no answer from anyone. When I got there she had been there for hours and the nurse didn’t know anything about her! Hadn’t done rounds or anything. She didn’t even know my mom had a very serious surgery! If you care about your family DO NOT BRING THEM HERE! I don’t know how they are still in business! Even had a family member pass away here! Zero stars!

We brought our father to heartland during the height of the pandemic. Despite the fact that both he and we were fully vaccinated, they refused to allow us to visit more than once. And it was outside, across a table. When we tried to get closer to him, the workers, who were lurking right inside the door, immediately came out and told us to move away from him. I hate this place.

As I patient of PrpMecica, I would say A+ for the care that I recieved. The entire nursing staff ensured that I got my medicines on time. The aids kept my room fresh and assisted with other needs like bathing. The therapy staff transformed me from a bedridden lump to a man who walked 3 blocks yesterday. I would reccomend this facility to the next person. After all it does say Skilled Nursing.

My dad has been there almost 2 weeks!!! Fell twice tht I know of!! Bad sore on his nose that they failed to tell me abt until my kids went over there to see him!!! The nurse who was over him had a nasty attitude it took her over an hr to see Wht he needed after she supposedly went on break! His call light was way out his reach and he begged to get him out of there!!! It’s so much more I can say abt this ghetto place!!!! Hopefully we can get him moved ASAP!! My worst fear is them purposely hurting his sore on his bottom!!!!!!! Lord please watch over him until we can place him somewhere else!!!!

My father is currently here and has been here for about 1 week. This is the most disgusting and below satisfying place. My father constantly calls me about them shoving his plate down and closing the door, when I’ve told them he has trouble holding utensils to eat. The food looks beyond disgusting and we have to take food to him every single day. The place is dirty. The bathroom is putrid. The floors are dirty. I’ve had to call everyday for someone to help him with grooming his body. You call the nurses station and they don’t answer. You go up there to tell the nurse your concerns and they’re ignored! My heart breaks to see my father so upset everyday.

If I could give zero stars I would. This place has been nothing but a headache for my family. My mother in law has been there for 2 months and she has gotten worse. They pretend to care for her when we are visiting, but neglect her. She is miserable. She is in pain. She was improving and now she is in worse shape. This place should be shut down. I hated sending her here to begin with but it was the only place with a bed. We thought it was better than her being home where she wouldn't be safe. Well, left with medical professionals they are not safe either. Take your time. Find a better facility for your loved ones. This place isn't for anyone.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to a dog much less a human being. My grandmother left with bed sores, unsanitary conditions.. absolutely disgusting! Her room was filled with bugs and trash looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a year.. the staff is wild too.. just out of pocket! This place needs to be shut down! Carmel munchie is also very rude and sarcastic! These people don’t care about your loved ones at all

My mom was here, she was treated horribly, and was stolen from numerous times. She had several severe infections from lack of diaper changes. Numerous hospital admissions. My grandma brought her a rose bush, a miniature one and they threw it away. She was treated poorly by several cnas, though some were nice/better than others. I truly feel this facility impacted her demise. Her roommate was torturing her from screaming, falling, loud signing and various other problems. My mom had been dropped while trying to move her to a stretcher. The place reeks. Personal hygiene is non-existent here for the residents. I would never recommend this facility to anyone.

My Father is here at this Forest Drive Facility in Columbia,SC & this place has been nothing but HORRIBLE since his arrival. He had fallen out of the bed where the CNA’S are saying bed rails CANNOT be put into place even with family request , TOLD MY SISTER THAT HE DIDNT FELL JUST TO FIND OUT HE DID. NO WORKING PHONE TO CONTACT HIM & SPEAK/CHECK IN WITH HIM , i even tried using his “ROOMMATES PHONE” & THAT WOULDNT WORK EITHER & WHEN I TELL SOMEONE THEY SAY “ USE 8 to dial out “ & I HAVE TRIED 8, 9, 0, & 1 & STILL NOT WORKING. WHICH MEAN THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT & ALSO STATED “ MAINTENANCE DONT WORK ON WEEKENDS, WE CAN PUT IN A WORK ORDER”. So a work order has to be put in for a WORKING PHONE to check in on your love ones ? I will be PUSHING the ISSUE to ANY & EVERYBODY RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS PLACE YOU GUYS CALL A “REHAB FACILITY”. NO REHAB PROCEDURES HAS BEEN DONE SINCE HIS ARRIVAL 2 WEEKS AGO ‼‼
