Love this place! Everything is done right - the food, the BREAD, the waffle, and the atmosphere is exactly what you want in a solid neighborhood bakery. Although, I doubt this will stay just a neighborhood place long. I had the avocado toast and the bread, egg, and seasoning were perfect. We shared the “sweet waffle” and it was gorgeous and delicious to eat! Will certainly be coming back!
The vintage decor here is so pleasant...you just want to choose a table and stay for awhile! The pastries are delectable and the avocado toast was just right...there was only one lady filling orders but she was helpful and very sweet. The handmade local cards and gifts are irresistible.
Yum! This place is so good! The savory pastries are the best I’ve ever had and the sweet ones are just as good. I highly recommend getting a pre-order box from their website. Make sure you order early in the week cause this place sells out fast! There’s a rotating selection that literally never disappoints. I’m grateful to get such high quality food even during COVID. Preorder, easy pick up and enjoy the best tasting pastries you’ve ever had!
A very pleasant surprise and off the beaten path. The cafe itself is adorable, full of plants, and gives off that sort of "grandma's house" vibe. The bread is absolutely delicious. The meet and cheese board had three kinds of bread, all interesting, delicious, and fresh. I had the savory waffle which was topped with brie and bacon. The waffle itself was dense and slightly sour in a good way and very filling. Will be going back here again.
Adorable cafe with a comforting grandma's house vibe. All of the food is delicious, and I have no idea why brie on waffles isnt standard, just brilliant! The mimosas and pastries are top notch as well and this remains my favorite brunch spot in Portland. Well worth the drive from downtown.
We we're so pleased when Heim opened up. The surrounding neighborhoods are definitely in need of more places like this. I've been here several times now and overall I've been please. I do think it is a bit on the high end as far as price goes but you're getting good quality, tasty food. Today I bought a couple baked goods and a cookie for my dog. I spent about $12 not including tip, and the dog cookie was $.50.
I had the Savory Waffle, which had brie, bacon, and a fried egg with dressed greens on the side. Overall everything tasted really good and I liked that it was real maple syrup. I just found it a little lacking for the price and was annoyed about my waffle soaking up all the dressing.
So far I have only tried one pastry! I got the raspberry pudding bread muffin.. so good! The drip coffee is good! It feels so European with the bread loafs on display, quality baked goods, and outdoor seating
This is exactly what this neighborhood needed. Fantastic baked breakfast treats. The nicest people. Get in early to avoid the crowds!
My wife and I have been twice. We really want to love it because the location is perfect, ambiance is great and the presentation is amazing. The only problem is that everything we've tried sweet and savory has been lacking in terms of flavor. It's a great addition to the neighborhood and we're rooting for it to do well--we just wish the food was more flavorful
