Living downtown, I've found Hertz to be the best deal compared to the other rental agencies. The staff are nice, if not a little stressed. It always seems there are not enough cars at these local car rental spots, so you need to have a reservation and show up on time. One secret is to reserve your car first thing in the morning, and arrive just before they open. Hertz also has one of the better loyalty programs for discounts and free rental days.
Long story short: I would not suggest coming to this location. Customer service is great, efficiency isn't. Came to this location for a car for a work trip and they didn't have the car available. 2 other customers were waiting for over an hour for a car when the manager told them to come back the next day and the car would be available for them. One person walked in with a reservation and they immediately told them the car isn't available. A second person walked in and they did the same thing. "Too many reservations - cannot service you at the time you reserved" - Kendall They were apologetic, but they are still booking more reservations than they can handle. Ensure you don't have to be somewhere for a deadline period. Customer service: 10/10 Efficiency: 1/10 Upgraded this to a 3 after I met the manager, D’Shaun. He was so nice and made the transaction end smoothly. Definitely a suitable manager. I think this site would be so much better if he had the resources needed to succeed. Would I recommend? No, but only due to getting results and timing. Will I be back? I hope not, but if I had to, at least I know they have good customer service.
After visiting another location, I called ahead and upon arrival I was treated as trash. As a long standing Gold member, to be denied a rental car due to me using my card on my Gold Member account. Manager refused to give his name however identified himself as the branch manager. He should be terminated immediately. He looked at my husband and refused my rental. Suddenly didn’t have a car after I drove 1 hr to get there. Totally unacceptable
It's a tricky review. I opted to rent here compared to the airport. The perks of the airport versus the proce difference and savings by renting at Courtland, I am still debating. I think the rental.pickup was frustrating because when I got to the rental center there was no express spot for frequent renters. Then the car was not ready but then they were going to upgrade me. But then the upgraded vehicle wasn't ready and needed to be washed. Then come to find out the upgrade was smoked in and they changed me to a 3rd car. It was a frustrating process. The airport has spoiled me that when I arrive I walk to the car. Now the return wasn't too bad but its a small area and so there were 4 cars blocking traffic to turn in and if you went to the alternative entrance there was the gardening company massive truck blocking traffic. Giving it one more try as the car was clean and efficient... but hope they can get some better processes in place to accommodate pick ups and drop offs
These reviews crack me up!!! Half say they're terrible, and half say they're great! I reserved a car online from this location for $288 for one week starting 9/14/2022 by 2 PM, and prior to going there, I'm going to call corporate as well as the store and confirm that A a clean car will definitely be available for me and B that they will honor the $288 they said I would pay at pickup with no security deposit because it clearly says "AMOUNT TO BE PAID AT TIME OF RENT = 288.05 USD" - LOL I already know they will try to screw me when I go to pick it up, but I'll UPDATE this review after the dust settles LOL.
Our accident was back in September 2022 and here it is February 2023 and we’re still dealing with issues from Hertz. It’s super hard to get in contact with them personally and have to communicate with a 1-800 number which is even worse. I’m not even sure why they have jobs because they are literally no help and have the worse attitudes. I WILL NEVER RENT FROM HERTZ AGAIN. If this was the last rental place on earth Hertz would still not be an option.
They were so gracious and gave me a car with 109000 miles on it! Scratches Dents & Dings. I lost a whole lot of respect for Hertz and I definitely will not recommend is there rental service to anyone!! I rent cars by the month for business purposes. Oh yeah by the way it's a 2016 and we're almost into 2020. At almost $1,000 per month again these guys should be absolutely ashamed of themselves and quit with the excuses if you don't have any more cars available. This car was given to me in need of an oil change right off the bat. In addition to that I can't seem to disable the child-proof locks the Bluetooth doesn't work it's a Nissan Sentra so you know how the molding keeps coming off of the doors. Again by far this is my worst experience but it's definitely been trending down every time I rent from Hertz.
Front desk attendants are rude. Hertz consistently shows contempt for their customers. I was asked if I wanted to prepay for gas for $50. I figured why not, if I don't use the entire tank, I'm sure I'll be refunded the amount I didn't use. That's how it works at other rental companies I've rented with. When I returned my car with the tank 75% full, I asked if I could be refunded for the gas I didn't use. The man behind the desk told me they could not do that. I was deceived into paying for Hertz's gas. The man got irate and asked me "when you go to the grocery store and eat only half the food you bought, do you demand a refund?" Actually yes, that's the way these things typically work. When I go to Home Depot and buy 50 pounds of bricks and I only use 10 pounds, I can return the other 40 and get a refund. This is my second time being deceived by this location. The first time was when they honored a coupon, and then refused to honor it when I changed my pickup time. Not only did I lose the coupon code, but I had to pay full price for the vehicle. Hertz is a company run and staffed by evil people. They are not good human beings.
Avoid this Hertz location if you can. They seem to have a few hustles going. First, the employee told me that they didn't have the size car that I had reserved weeks ago, and that she would rent me the next size up...for about $80 more for one night. When I said absolutely not, she'll need to find me the type car I reserved, or rent me the larger one at no charge, she disappeared to the back for several minutes, and then magically found one. The next attempt at more money, was to try to sneak through an extra $100. When I again questioned the total and said I'll only be paying the price that I had on my reservation, she said that I was picking up the car early and this is the charge for early pick up. Upon looking at my watch it was 28 minutes before the time I had entered online; she said there was nothing she could do. After stating that I would just wait in the lobby until exactly 2pm, she again magically found a way to change the time in the system and avoid the charge. Finally, upon retrieving my car from the lot, the employee had to clean the entire interior and exterior of the car it's worth mentioning that there were 2 other employees just sitting around looking bored that could have been helping. At the end, I did get the car I reserved for the price I reserved for online, but it took over an hour and took a lot of arguing to not be up-charged.
After making reservations. I get there. They wasn't sure if they had the vehicle I requested. And the guy wouldn't even run my credit/debit card just because it had DEBIT on it. I tried to inform him that it was indeed a credit card and please just try it. But he didn't want to just because he was afraid that his name would be associated with the transaction. whatever that means?
