Hertz-Please please hire more staff. Every time I've rented in the last 3 months 2 other times in addition to this one, there has been ONE person working. I've even tried coming at different times. That person working certainly works hard but can, in no way, keep up with demand. They also never have the type of car I've put in to rent. Hertz- do better. PLEASE. It's a busy location. Find employees who CAN and WILL work for you.
Absolutely horrific experience. After waiting for a very long time for someone to help us we were told they didn’t have a car for us. They then tried to get us to take an electric vehicle, which didn’t fit our needs. They eventually told us to go across the street to Enterprise because Enterprise has many more cars — which was true, we went across the street and everything was smooth. Highly recommend avoiding this Hertz and going somewhere else instead.
Not a good experience. Walked in. Rep asked me for my D.L and CC. Reached over to cc machine on my side to insert my credit card. Said nothing other than sign. He went outside pulled car out, went around the back. Car came wet, assuming he ran it through car wash. He said you're all set. I instantly saw damage to bumper & and rims. I pointed out the damage, he said "oh I already noted that" I have rented cars before & never this experience. Never a walk around care to inspect with me. I entered car, noticed a stench in car & back seat dirty, something spilled in back seat, not cleaned up. I understand cars are used things happen but the no communication is unacceptable. Its unfortunate because I went to specific location because of good service I had a while ago. Not again! Unacceptable. Location & Staff needs a revamp!
Rented a car for four days and returned it in three and expected a reduced charge. I never received my email receipt and saw the charges on my credit card. I tried calling and the phone prompts are horrible, and when I finally got a live person she put the phone down to help other people, and then after 15 minutes of waiting, she hung up on me! I tried calling back and then she wouldn't answer. Do yourself a favor and go directly across the the street to Enterprise!!
Awful experience. Guy at front desk one man show was visibly unhappy to help us from the moment we walked through the door. Showed up to pick up our prepaid, reserved car for a labor day roadtrip. They didn’t have the car I reserved, nor anything similar to it. Now the trip is in limbo with no car. Beware.
I note the bad experiences of others. I was fortunate in my experience thus far. I dropped off a one-way rental here without issue, and picked up my current rental ahead of time and in less than 3 minutes. Also got an upgrade thanks to my GM status, I think. Keep up the good work thus far.
Worst car I rented with Hertz, smelling like someone smoked 100 cigarettes a day in it. A Tesla with 96,000 miles and falling apart. Counter very slow too. I’m 5 stars, so I rent a lot, never happened to rent a low quality vehicle like this one. I don’t even put my kid in it, or he will get cancer right away. When you accelerate there is a strange “tok” sound and seems like the rear wheels are going to detach from the car. This car should be thrown away.
If I could give a 0 star review I would. Walked in, people waiting tell me they haven't been properly helped and they also let me know there's no vehicles. I had a reservation for a vehicle prior to arriving, I had to drive to the airport an hour away. The employee arrives and the first thing she says is that she can only help half of us there, there are no vehicles, and just told me to call corporate, all while eating a Kind Bar. Professionalism, 0.
I would also leave 0 starts if I could. I can't even type out all of my frustrations here. We needed a rental in a bit of an emergency while my college daughter's car went to a dealer for repairs. I first called to ask if they would rent to a 21-year-old, and was told yes. So far so good. My daughter herself called later for a quote of the cost, and was told $280/week. Fair enough. The total bill wound up being about $500. There was a $19/day extra fee for being "underage" which no one mentioned to either of us, and they whopped us with $125 for using their EZ-pass again, not mentioned ahead of time. Then, my daughter found out that since we have AAA, the underage fee should have been waived. No one mentioned it, and my attempts "after the fact" to get that fee removed have been totally denied. NEVER renting from Hertz again. EVER.
Terrible experience at Hertz Fairfield – reserved an SUV but was forced to take an uncomfortable minivan after waiting two hours, with rude service, high fuel costs, and an agent even demanding I clean the car before return.
