Hickory Hut

I came here because the peach cobbler had such great reviews. I got the Saturday Special chicken sandwich which came with 2 sides. I chose Mac and cheese and fries for my sides. I also got a side of hush puppies and a slice of peach cobbler. The chicken in the sandwich was a little dry, the sauce was good. The Mac and cheese and hush puppies were good as well. Try and I might I could not get into the peach cobbler. I don't know what everyone else is eating but the cobbler did not live up to the hype.

Ordered a beef hot link sandwich and this is what I got. Literally one small piece of toast and two large bratwurst. Bratwurst and hot links, I suppose, could be synonymous but the bratwurst was gross and not the slightest but of spice. MOST IMPORTANTLY, sandwich absolutely implies a minimum of two slices of bread. Always. Every time. I received one slice for both massive links. I also ordered a pizza puff which was pretty good and I would have given two stars for that but when I called to express my grievance the staff were so rude. Don't waste your time or money. Definitely did not live up to the hype.

Today the experience was no good. Half Bucket of Rib Tips and it was very hard to chew. You can see in the picture the Rib Tips are very dry. The sauce was very little considering the amount of Rib Tips and I even order an extra small one. I don’t know what happened but this was my favorite BBQ. Don’t be cheap in your sauce and have fresh Rib Tips. This is no good! Time to look for other alternatives…

really nice staff and some better than average food, but nothing really to write home about. Fresh but the flavor isn’t outstanding, prices are ok

Something is a little different about Hickory Hut's food. The chicken wings are still good not as good as it used to be a long time ago which I would say would be over 5 to 10 years ago the chicken used to be really really good, not knocking it but it is some what good. My two complaints is, one of my wings look like a turkey wing, not to me very appealing or appetizing. I guess I'm gonna have to specifically ask for regular sized wings. They don't have to be real small but I don't like them so big that they look like they came off of a turkey. The greens are usually good I get them for my Dad because they have ham hawks in it, tender and seasoned well. The last couple of times they have been tough with no meat in it and bland. I'm not sure what that's about but things have changed within the last month dealing with the greens. When I see very big pieces of chicken it makes me know that it could possibly be genetically raised.

I ordered 24 piece chicken wings. Received only two sweet and sour sauces and some of the wings still had feathers on them. What is going on?

The female at the counter was rude. As if she didn't want me to return. Also, I ordered a large rice. NO SPICE OR BUTTER! Just rice. This is not the Art Songs on 38th and nicollet. Or the hickory hut on Lake street. Whomever bought the franchise doesn't care about customer satisfaction. The wings were fine. I'm just stating My experience. Check your staff. Just saying, though.

Very good wings. Crunchy and seasoned well. First time eating them and I will be back when I get that craving again. Sauces were good too I had the hot sweet chili and garlic parm. Worth it!!!

The place is going down same flavor but you can tell when your eating yesterday chicken need to be more vibrant and cook food fresh losing customers that has help carry the placeFood: 2/5

I don’t know if it is because I order late evening .. 30 minutes before they close but honey it didn’t give what C I thought it was going to give. I’m actually a lil disappointed because of the name , you should expect amazing fresh bbq but it wasn’t . Mac and cheese was blend . Baked beans was good but no beans in it really . But i see potential so they get 3 stars .
