The High Note was the first bar I started to frequent when I moved to MKE about two years ago. It's still my go-to spot even today. Their karaoke song catalogue is all on the Karafun app, which makes finding a song to sing really easy. I'm always down to hear people that can't sing well when they're having a blast, but there are also some regulars who stop by with KILLER vocals. Even the bartenders will hop on the mic and belt it out while working a packed bar, and their performances are STELLAR. You'll be blessed if you get a chance to see the owner perform "We Didn't Start The Fire." I haven't tried their food personally, but I know that it's good because they've partnered with a fast food place just down the street that's great for filling a belly of alcohol. You definitely won't be starved here. The only downside is that, on super busy nights, the song queue is incredibly long. It's best to get there early and know exactly what you'll sing if you don't want to wait too long. Also, the bar itself isn't super big, so it gets tight on a Saturday night. The seating is pretty limited on those busy nights, which is my one and only gripe. It'd be amazing to see if they could do an expansion one day, but you definitely won't mind the intimacy if you like meeting new people. The bartenders, the owner, and the regulars are all super nice, so being close in this place feels right.
This was my first time here, so I was excited to check it out. It has a great atmosphere and everyone was so into all the people singing. It was a fun and positive atmosphere. The staff was also very friendly. My only complaint is that I was there for 2 hours and never got to sing when I put my song in right away. There were people who sang multiple times and one person who got there after me who got to sing before me. So that was disappointing, but next time I guess i just need to get there earlier and he able to stay later. Even though that made me sad, I'd still probably go back so I could sing in front of that fun crowd. I also wish they had more N/A options for people who don't drink. If you're looking for a fun and crazy place to go, then check this place out. I only gave it 3 stars because it is a karaoke bar and I never got the chance to karaoke after waiting so long, but it's still a fun place.
I have not seen racism in real life before. It was absolutely insane to see the bar staff discriminate against colored people I did not know them personally. Food looked great, karaoke scene seemed good, but wow the way they treated some of their patrons turned me off for life. I will not be back.Food: 1/5
The high Note was a nice place I enjoyed the food and drinks and the crowd was amazing and the ppl on stage singing was amazing too I'm definitely going backFood: 5/5
I've been coming to this bar since the literal day I moved to Milwaukee. I love this bar. - Every bartender is awesome and the drinks are great. - Food is from a local Gyro place and is really good. - Owner is super involved and is constantly upgrading the place. - The karaoke itself is always a blast. Excellent sound system, great crowds cheering you on.. the works. Vegetarian options: They have meatless options pizza = cheese; gyro place = any of the apps Wheelchair accessibility: Everything except the stage is 100% wheelchair accessible the stage is 1 step up.
We went on a Friday night, signed up to do kareoke, waited 2 hours and our names never got called up. People who got there after us went up to sing before us. Kind of seemed like you needed to be in the 'Cool Kids Club' to sing. The very drunk people who did sing were having fun.Service: 2/5
Went here on a weeknight and had an excellent time singing my heart out! Food options can be purchased next door and taken in and other reviews are right about the bartender singing along in the karaoke rotation with you. Drinks are affordable too.Food: 4/5
Complete random I stumbled into this place. I walked in during open mic comedy ! What a treat to hear a bunch of comedians practice their sets. They were great and it was completely entertaining. Following the comedy the karaoke started! The staff take part and they were fabulous! For really some of the friendliest staff you could ask for! The owner Evan was there and he was very personable. What a great concept this place is! Bartenders were attentive and fast! Rocky the security was also super! Seriously - stop into this place on your next trip to Milwaukee !
Great place! Bartenders are always super friendly. It gets jam-packed, so plan all the songs you want to sing because it might take a while.Food: 4/5
