The Hindu Cultural Center of Connecticut was founded to serve the Hindu community of Southern CT.

Story

The Hindu Cultural Center

* Organizes social, cultural and religious events celebrating Hindu festivals and holidays.

* Promotes awareness of the ‘Hindu way of life’ within ourselves and our neighbors.

* Develops religious and cultural education programs and discussion.

* Develops community service projects to promote the spirit of Giving In our neighboring communities.

· Take Exit 53 (STRATFORD/SHELTON) for Route 110 (before the Housatonic Bridge ).
· Take Right on Route 110 South towards STRATFORD .
· Go 25-50 Feet. At the light Route 110 divides - stay on right and take Main / Putney Street .
· Go 0.5 TO 0.6 miles and take second Right on Chapel Street .
· Hindu Cultural Center is on the right. Please park in the rear of the building.

Going South from New Haven to Fairfield:

· Take exit 53 for Route 110 (after the Housatonic Bridge )

· Go 75-100 Feet. At the light Route 110 divides - stay on right and take Main / Putney Street .

Mission

Our Mission is to provide a center:

Where Indian Americans can meet to continue and celebrate the religious and cultural traditions of our heritage.

Where the youth can gather to listen, question and incorporate the ‘Hindu’ ideals in their daily life, and continue the legacy of our cultural heritage.

Where we can promote the wisdom of the Hindu philosophy, and intercultural appreciation and understanding to anyone that is interested.
