A good place to go! I love ramen and I was waiting for so long to go to Hokkaido! To go there you have to be patient because the line to enter is usually big! Inside the place is warm and comfy and the attendants are very gentle! We order two combo ramens and they came fast! The average price is 20 buks/person! There isn't wifi in the restaurant and there is 2 bathroom in the building! I like the experience and probably I would go back!
The ramen quality was fantastic, souped in pork bone froth and added flavors such as Shio, Shoyu, Miso and so on made the store rick in options to choose from. The ramen we had were Miso and Cha-se?forgot the proper name…were good. Portion size, was on the lower sode for the price and average ramen we get in US. Also, the amount lf veggies for a18$ ramen was very low no sea weed or bean sprouts. But the taste preceeded that, so didnt feel too bad. Can be imporved: Seating was not comfortable, cramped for spaces and literally no room to move. Also, servers were trying to hasten things, like as soon as you finish the ramen—boon, bill is on the table. I mean, dining in is about experience, not just food, No? Surely, we’ve all gone through a pandemic to know that. Overall, will come again for good ramen—may be not for a fine dining experience.
Clean and spacious ramen shop with a great location on bow street in Harvard Square. Bustling with mostly students, staff was very courteous and took necessary COVID precautions. I had the miso chashu gyoza combo, which comes with gyoza and ajitamago. The soup was decent. I usually like a coarser miso texture, especially for Sapporo-style, which often has corn and/or butter added to it. The noodles tasted fine. The chashu was smallish with a strong pork smell to it. The gyoza tasted more like frozen gyoza and not freshly made. Ajitama was slightly overcooked. The whole meal was okay, just not worth $18 for me. It’s not fair to compare it to ramen in Tokyo, but if that’s what you’re used to as well, you may not enjoy Santouka.
Lot of great delicious ramen options. Comfort food never tasted better. The classic ones are a must try, lot of flavor and really filling. The pork meat is also really soft and nicely cook. The spicy green ramen is said to be spicy but it’s not really, has a good flavor but personally, I just prefer the classic one. The staff is pretty friendly and respectful.
A little disappointed with Hokkaido this time. I have had their ramen years ago. They were better back then. The quality definitely has slipped since I had it for the first time. Maybe I've had better ones since then. The bowl feels smaller. I ordered Negi Nanban ramen regular. It is labeled as spicy with a warning, but it wasn't anything out of the ordinarily spicy. Probably won't come back again which makes me feel sad because I used to love this place.
Solid ramen! There's a good selection and you can even choose what size bowl you want. I can never finish a regular bowl so I loved that option. If you're not in the mood for ramen they've got these bento boxes that are delicious and at a great price. I've included a picture but we got one with gyoza, edamame, egg and pork with rice! The pork or Cha-Shu I should say was flavorful. The restaurant is casual with a modern design. We went in for lunch on a sunday and there was no wait time. Parking can be a bit tricky. We opted for a parking garage but if you get lucky you can find street parking.
Chose this restaurant based on a family member's recommendation and boy it was good! This is a restaurant for authentic Ramen. The options for the soup can be tricky and I asked the waitress for their most popular choice. She suggested the Shio Ramen Combo. I thoroughly enjoyed it alongwith the dumplings and the egg. Ramen is not for everyone as I believe it is an acquired taste. Santouka impressed me very much and I will highly recommend this restaurant. The restaurant can be busy during lunch and dinner hours. It is advisable to make a reservation. Parking can be very tricky. Be prepared to walk a bit to digest that fantastic meal. Pricing is moderate. Service was a clear winner. Asian hospitality at it's best. Will I return: Absolutely!
Nice ramen restaurant. The bonto are like lunch box and they are really perfect in size. There is a fairly great amount of pork meals.
The food was ok, it wasn't bad, but it didn't meet my expectations of good ramen. The ramen wasn't really hot either, so it highlighted the bland ness of the soup. Our waiter was very nice and helpful with recommendations.
Yuuuummm! Love that they do small Ramens and combos. But don’t be fooled. The s ramen is still a very hearty portion. The gyoza and Karaganda were so delicious. The staff was very nice.
